Many of you probably already know that the sun is the primary contributor to skin ageing (so wrinkles, rough texture, sagging, age spots) and also the primary cause of skin cancer. It is vitally important to protect your skin. Skin cancers occur when cells are damaged by UV light (this is why solariums are banned) IT IS REALLY INTERESTING TO KNOW THAT SUNBURN CAUSES 95% OF SKIN CANCERS. THIS IS SOMETHING WE CAN AVOID! You may hav...e heard the saying - SLIP, SLOP, SLAP. It's an old advertising campaign about protecting your skin from the sun. SLIP ON A SHIRT SLOP ON SUNSCREEN AND SLAP ON A HAT All of these measures will help to protect your skin. When choosing a sunscreen, select one that is BROAD SPECTRUM - this means that it protects you against both UVA and UVB rays. REALLY important!! SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT AN SPF OF 30 FOR EXAMPLE PROVIDES DOUBLE THE PROTECTION OF SPF 15. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Studies over the years have shown that sunscreen with an SPF(sun protection factor) of 15 blocks about 93 percent of UV rays, and sunscreens that are SPF 30 block about 97 percent of ultraviolet rays. Anything higher than 30 remains in the 97 or 98 percent range. Personally, I always recommend 50+ We have a beautiful sunscreen that is nourishing for your skin and doesn't block your pores. It's non ghosting (no weird white look!), non-greasy and glides on like a beautiful moisturizer. It contains Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. And bonus, kids love it because it doesn't feel yukky! 07.01.2022 Xenia says...I love gardening and cooking. This is what my hands look like after a day in the garden, after washing. The dirt is ingrained and takes several weeks to come off completely. Today I tried the lumiSpa on my hands and it took all that dirt off - amazing!!! Not it’s intended use but Sylvia Holzapfel did you know about the versatile uses? Next I’m going to see whether it gets garlic or onion smells out of my hands after a day of cooking. The scientist in me needs to experiment. I love it"
