25.01.2022 Two sleeps! Are you ready to get back to feet beating on Tuesday morning? We finished last term celebrating Beat the Feets 18th birthday. And we will be starting the new term wishing a group of our girls such much love for their demo at the Ages Care Games on Tuesday afternoon. They have been working hard during the break - I can tell you! ... We will not be starting anything new on the first lesson. This is so the girls performing that afternoon get one last little practise in. But I have some new tunes ready for Thursday and the following week. Looking forward to seeing you all Sky

20.01.2022 It is hilarious when people ask me what I do for a living and I say I teach people over the age of 50 to dance. Im usually met with an awwww thats so sweet. Sweet? My girls are not sweet. ... They are fierce, powerful, active and an inspiration. My class is filled with girls that have been attending for 18 years and some that have joined Beat The Feet in the last fortnight. But every one has the same motive. To dance. Feel joy. Leave happy. Im one lucky gal that I get to spend each Tuesday and Thursday morning with you.

Ive decided to keep it in the program for a little while longer. We only did it for the last term and I think we didnt get enough from it. It was our Hustle amalgamation. 14.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US Today we celebrated Beat the Feet turning 18! Officially adults! (That doesnt mean you can drink in class now though ). I am honoured that Beat the Feet has been in my life for HALF of my life. And can assure you that I will be teaching the over 50s community of Mandurah dancing for many many more years.... 13.01.2022 What a day so far! Started the morning with some choreography with Heather. The one we just finished looked hot (thats a clue). Then Tiny door #tinydoorsMH2019 hunting with Scarlett. If you you have kiddies (or just looking for some fun yourself) these holidays check out the tiny doors along the foreshore. Heaps of free fun. We even stopped in at the gorgeous shop Paper Planes #paperplanesco and had a chat with Jennys talented daughter. ... A quick stop to have Nutella crepes and chicken salad at the Boardwalk Cafe. Before walking to the cinemas. Walked by the Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre. Ekkkk! So much work is being done there. Hope they are ready for us!!! Now sitting waiting to watch the new Mary Poppins movie whilst throwing popcorn at lovely Shirleys head (shes sitting in the row in front of us). Not long now girls! xxx

07.01.2022 This is the clip I was talking about in class today. Even though this might not be your style of music or dance I want you to watch and take note of a few things. 1) the highs and lows. Or the difference between the slow and impact moments. By having that huge difference, it creates such impact. ... 2) the beats that arent danced. They are just as powerful as those that are danced. 3) how strong a simple walk can be if you put your all into it. A dance step doesnt need to be complicated to be art. 4) counting!!! 05.01.2022 I just read a great article about being a woman in your 70s. And I loved this part and wanted to share: We can be kinder to ourselves as well as more honest and authentic. Our people-pleasing selves soften their voices and our true selves speak more loudly and more often. We dont need to pretend to ourselves and others that we dont have needs. We can say no to anything we dont want to do. We can listen to our hearts and act in our own best interest. We are less angst-filled and more content, less driven and more able to live in the moment with all its lovely possibilities.

03.01.2022 What a week it has been so far Crazy classes on Tuesday morning. An afternoon and fab time at the Seniors week demo classes at the Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre. Then this afternoon opening the Variety show for Eddie Storm. ... Finishing off our dancing week tomorrow morning with my dancing girls. Phew! Chrissy tunes next week!!! Eeeeee cant wait. I love you girls. You make my heart sing with pride. Not only the girls that performed at our recent displays, but also all those that came in support at events this week.
