24.01.2022 The boys are on form today, video from 26 December shoot

23.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Today was our 75 target competition shoot. Absolutely beautiful weather conditions. Some challenging targets and great company with a great bunch of blokes and of course our lady. Sorry, no photos were taken of the day. It was a friendly shoot with just 15 shooters taking part. Scores for the event were:... High Gun - Chris Wright 62/75 C Grade - 1st - Scott Martin 55/75 C Grade - 2nd - Geoff Podlich 52/75 C Grade - 3rd - James Podlich. 47/75 after shoot off. Rebecca Soric was the lucky winner or the bottle of Jim Beam Raffle. Our next shoot in two weeks will be a practice shoot/Come and Try Day. All welcome. See you on the range. See more

22.01.2022 DEATHS IN SPORT (a morbid topic) A bias view from a sporting shooter. Believe it or not, Basketball actually rates as having the highest percentage of injuries... than any other sport followed closely by Football according to Wikipedia. Swimming is said to be one of the safest sports according to Wikipedia but then Wikipedia put it second in the top 5 most dangerous sports just behind Base Jumping (I'm confused) 3rd is Cycling then Running and Skydiving at number 5. Unfortunately there is no data relating to shooting sports which is where I come in being a clay target shooter and hunter. Apparently there have not been any deaths on a gun range while carrying out the sport of target shooting that I can find and the media are quick to discredit firearms when involved in any deaths. Gun related deaths seem to be a combination of violence, suicide and accidental. In some instances motor vehicle deaths have been attributed as involving a firearms simply because one was found in the vehicle. It all depends on the agenda of the statistic writer. American gun violence is the catalyst for much of the gun debates in modern times. We often hear about the dangers of firearms and the call to ban them as was the case here in 1996. America seems to dominate the statistics when it comes to firearm related deaths, I guess population density plays a major part in that. Personally I feel this is a mental health issue more than a firearm per capita issue. As a sportsman I can find nothing relating to deaths in the sport, yet there seems to be a trend to drop firearm related sports from international events like the Commonwealth Games and Olympics. 10 Cricketer have died as a direct result of on field incidents since 1870, the most recent incident here in Australia was Philip Hughes in 2014. Motor Racing deaths are numerous with one the sticks in my mind was the late Australian racing legend Peter Brock who died in September 2006 while ralley driving. Moto GP Bike racing related deaths between 1970 and 1980 numbered 24 but saw only 3 in the last decade, probably due to improvements in bike and track safety. Water sports don't escape either, Rock Fishing is rated as one of the most dangerous sports, Jetski racing or watercross had a fatality in 2012 as did Surf Life Saving during the Australian Surf Life Saving Titles of the same year, a total of 3 people in recent years, there has reportedly been 473 deaths (Wikipedia) as a result of water sports from the period 2005-6 to 2015-16. So next time someone tells you guns are dangerous stop a second and think about it, was it a dangerous gun or was it a dangerous person.? Afterall they can not load and shoot themselves, there has to be at least one person involved. To me, a gun is a tool of the sport just like a cricket bat, tennis racket or a motor car, each can be used in the wrong way with the wrong intent. So in my summary, shooting sports are as it seems one of the safest sports available. Next time your looking at getting into a sport why not consider joining some friendly people, whom are extremely safety conscious like me on the range. It really is a lot of fun. You might surprise yourself and really enjoy it and if I can change your views then YOU may also change someone else's. Sporting Clay's is one of the fastest growing sports available to all, with a minimal financial outlay. Go on, challenge yourself. Chris Wright.

22.01.2022 Enjoy. https://www.facebook.com/1676534815945699/videos/853218691701636

17.01.2022 Hi friends and follower of our great club, another year is drawing to a close and our last shoot for 2020 is done and dusted. I would like to thank you all for coming to share in the fun of busting a few targets with us over the last twelve months. We have enjoyed setting targets to challange you. We hoped we helped you improve, some of you have really improved in a short time. In this difficult year we were forced to take a few months off and have come back stronger than ev...er before, this coming year will be full on with our MONTHLY NIGHT SHOOTS soon to resume. January 9 will kick off 2021 with a 75 target comp and your all welcome. Here are a couple of screen shots of our most popular posts in 2020, one was very controversial as people didn't actually read the post, just the heading and then jumped to conclusions, and to reiterate on this post, the range really is an animal sanctuary and at no time are any animals or birds etc harmed in anyway ever. The second post that scored high with hits was our flag, these have been a great asset to help guide people to our venue. We at Beaudesert Sporting Clays would like to wish you all a very happy New Year and we'll see you all next year. Stay safe.
