24.01.2022 Sustainable Sunday - The dilemma of the modern day recycler. There is so much choice for the consumer these days. The same product can come in a variety of packaging options so how do we chose the right one for the planet? My husband is lactose intolerant so we buy a lot of soy milk. We are looking for the best option with taste, cost & packaging always considered. Here are the two options we are currently weighing up. Option 1. Long life carton, where ONLY the lid is rec...yclable! (#Greenbatch). The UHT carton is thrown in the general garbage bin, because it is made with several different layers-cardboard, foil & plastics- almost impossible to recycle! Option 2. Fresh Soy milk, where the plastic wrap label (#Redcycle) & Plastic 1 bottle are recyclable (#Greenbatch or local council kerbside recycling-yellow bin) BUT the lid is NOT recyclable. Which option would you chose for the planet? #sustainablesunday #beaufortstcommunitycentre #linkwest#communitycentres #perthfarmersmarket#perthwa #mountlawley #inglewood #healthyliving#enviromentallyfriendly #recycling #greenbatch #buynothingmtlawley #coles #sogood #sogoodsanatarium

17.01.2022 This is a chance to have your say on changes to University fees that make arts and humanities courses more highly priced as they are not considered job ready courses. That is the worst part of the changes. The increases to fees are also not good but is it fair to make arts students pay more while others pay less? From the submissions you can see statistics show arts and humanities students are no less employable than engineers, lawyers and accountants! If you want to hav...e your say - follow the links! https://www.aph.gov.au//Education_and_em/JobReadyGraduates https://www.aph.gov.au//Educ/JobReadyGraduates/Submissions
