24.01.2022 The State Government wants farmers to capitalise on what's predicted to be the best harvest in years, by taking on unemployed people. The government has launche...d the Help Harvest New South Wales website, to connect people out of work with job opportunities on farms across the state. Agriculture minister Adam Marshall says it's about linking people to job opportunities - "but also getting the word out and encouraging people that if they want a good paying job for the next few months they need to get off their couch, get out to the regions because there are plenty of farmers that are keen to have people on board."

03.01.2022 MY CALLS FOR DROUGHT TRANSPORT SUBSIDY FOR RESTOCKING ANSWERED I have spoken more about the need for increased drought support for our farmers than any o...ther topic in Parliament. In May, I wrote to the Minister for Agriculture regarding the eligibility criteria for stock transport subsidies seeking an expansion of the criteria to cover stock being transported from a sale. As our farmers look to re-stock, the Government needs to be supporting them to getting back to full production. Today my calls have been answered with the Drought Transport Subsidy opened up to cover the cost of transport for restocking.
