23.01.2022 Lest we forget. On the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour 1918, the guns finally drew silent & after many lives had been lost, not just humans, but horses & dogs too. At the going down of the sun, & at the rising of the sun, they shall not grow old & we will remember them. ... Thank you to every individual who has laid down their life, to those who risked their life & survived. Thank you not only to those who served in WWI, but also WWII, Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam (to name but a few), in every war that has since been (sadly there have been too many when you think), & those who continue to serve. I am grateful to all of you, & may you never be forgotten, both now & in the future. #remembranceday #lestweforget #theyshallnotgrowold #thankyou #poppy #remember #battlefield #poppyday #remembrance

20.01.2022 My client has been coming to me for 6 weeks & I’m so happy for him for the progress we are making. It’s been over 10 months since he has been able to do a full push-up after injuring his shoulder & where he wasn’t able to move his shoulder to his ear before seeing me (please see earlier post). After 6 weeks of treatments with me, I’m so excited & happy for him that he’s just been able to do his first full push-up & without pain Aside from his shoulder injury, I have been t...reating his other injuries, including debilitating knee pain, which he has suffered with for over 8 years, & had been told he will potentially need surgery. I have been treating his knees for the last 3 weeks & I was delighted to be told yesterday he is now pain-free & no longer wakes up in pain from his knees. He is now also able to do simple stretches & movements without pain. We are aiming to get him back to doing basic lightweight squats in the coming months. I am not saying that I can guarantee he won’t need surgery in later years, but surgery should only ever be a last resort after everything else has been tried. Surgery is not always the answer. To book an appointment with me or if you have any questions with how I can help, please do not hesitate to contact me. #sportsmassagetherapist #sportsmassage #injuryrecovery #painfree #injuryrehab #progress #injury #shoulderinjury #kneepain #massagetherapy #Injurytreatment #injuryprevention #recovery #recoveryispossible

17.01.2022 @sazzabb injured her lower back about 9 months ago after lifting a big dog & has been suffering from sciatica, which can be very debilitating, ever since. She has not been able to train/lift much since getting sciatica & has had little relief. Sarah came to me about a month ago & the progress she has made is amazing. She is now able to do the straddle stretch with a greater range of motion, is now having regular PT sessions, & she is subsequently able to do more each week. ...I am delighted to say she is now going days at a time pain-free with fewer flare-ups. The photos show the range of motion she had before treatment with me (top photo), range after 1 massage with me (middle photo) & the range of motion she has been able to achieve after 3 treatments with myself. She is continuing to go from strength to strength & while I am not saying there will not be days her sciatica doesn’t flare up due to her job, she is able to do more and more every week. Many believe nothing can be done for sciatica, however this is completely inaccurate. Treatment, recovery & prevention is possible. If you would like more information on how I can help you or to book a massage with myself, please drop me a message. #sportsmassage #sportsmassagetherapist #sciaticarelief #sciatica #sciaticapain #sciaticapainrelief #massagetherapy #massage #recovery #treatment #painfree

14.01.2022 The rotator cuff explained: . . The ‘rotator cuff’ is not a muscle as so many are led to believe. It is a term given to a group of four muscles (the supraspinatus, the infraspinatus, the subscapularis, & the teres minor), the tendons & ligaments that are responsible for moving the arm above your head & also rotation, while also protecting the glenhumeral (shoulder) joint from getting dislocated. .... . The glenohumeral joint is a ball & socket joint where the scapula (shoulder blade) attaches to the humerus (bone of your upper arm). . . The shoulder joint, as it is a ball & socket joint, is highly mobile & subsequently many lack shoulder stability, often resulting in many injuries or develop injuries from overuse. . . Common, treatable injuries include tears, tendinitis & bursitis. . . For more information or treatment to aid injury prevention or to treat a rotator cuff injury, please drop me a message. . . 07.01.2022 Congratulations to my client, @t.ayler_ , who has just got her orange belt grading in kickboxing. When Tayler first came to me in July, she had only been kickboxing for about 6 months but due to her talent, dedication, determination & amazing progress, was sought out to train as a coach. She qualified as a coach in October & continues to go from strength-to-strength. Tayler has persevered despite having knee problems (tendonitis, general knee pain, bursitis), which we have ...started to work on & alleviate. I can’t wait to see her continued progress as her knee continues to improve with the treatments. She is definitely one to watch. #sportsmassage #sportsmassagetherapist #injuryrehab #injuryrecovery #injuryprevention #kickboxing #massagetherapy #massage #massagetreatment #injury #kneeinjury #knee #kickboxingcoach #sport

06.01.2022 Shane @whippet__good injured his left shoulder from falling 4 metres onto a crash mat when bouldering at the beginning of the year. Subsequently, he has been unable to do a lot of what he loves since then. Shane came to me after Nina @coach_nina_ninja referred him to me. Nina has made progress with his range of movement but the sports massage will be able to help further his progress faster as he still has issues, a decreased range of motion & pain in his left shoulder. Toda...y was his first session with me & we have already made amazing progress following my treatment. The first photo shows him before the sports massage & the second photo shows his progress afterwards. While I am not saying I can fix injuries overnight, it is always great to see such progress after a treatment. Looking forward to seeing Shane making more progress & feeling & moving better, & he will be looking for continued treatments to help prevent further injuries, & to release the tightness & adhesions that training & everyday life creates. If you have any questions or would like to book in, please drop me a message. #sportsmassage #sportsmassagetherapist #shoulderinjury #progress #injuryprevention #treatment #injurytreatment #recovery #movement #rangeofmotion #shoulder #massagetherapy #massage #sports #injuryrehab #lookafteryourbody

05.01.2022 My injury history. I sometimes get asked if I’ve had any injuries & the answer is yes, albeit they have tended to be more from accidents. Having done the type of sports that I have, there is always inevitably going to be injuries, although I have been fortunate enough to be luckier than most. I have had very few of the usual mild-moderate sprains & strains over the years, but I have had them, including my peroneals (these run along the outside of the calf) being inflamed, re...sulting in my ankle becoming like a balloon & unable to walk. I’ve also had runners toe whilst training for the London marathon in 2014. Over the years, I’ve had numerous concussions from either bad falls, hit on the head with a surf board (which also resulted in a mild spinal injury), but also being kicked in the head by a horse & also being hit in the head with an oar in a white water rafting accident. I’ve experienced debilitating back spasms, I have mild scoliosis in my spine, I tore all of my muscles, tendons & ligaments in my right shoulder from a road traffic accident, & I’ve had a calcification (essentially a kidney stone) in my right biceps tendon where my body didn’t heal correctly from a tear. When I was kicked in the head, I was also kicked in the back at the same time in a freak riding fall where I also thought I had broken my spine as I couldn’t feel my legs & couldn’t move them. I was very fortunate this wasn’t the case. In my white water rafting accident, I was pushed out of the raft & ended up being swept down the concrete rapids, resulting in a full rescue as an oar hit me in the head (see photo), cutting it open, but my coccyx was also slammed into a concrete rapid while going under a raft at the same time, which I think is the most painful injury I have ever experienced & was also unable to walk initially after the rescue. Needless to say, I have experienced several injuries, but each time, I’ve also been lucky enough to have a good sports massage therapist to help me recover. Whether you’re injured or injury-free, it is so important to look after your body as you only have one. . . #sportsmassage #sportsmassagetherapist #injuries #lookafteryourbody #recovery

05.01.2022 @pretty_hydro_house_plants came to me a week ago with severe pain & severely restricted movement in her right arm after having fallen over 2 months ago, tearing muscles & tendons in her arm, but thought it would heal on its own. She has barely been able to move her arm, which has meant she has struggled to do most everyday activities that we all take for granted. After 1 treatment with me, it fills me with delight at the amazing progress she has made & the surprise & pure j...oy on her face, not just with the increased range of motion, but also the significant decrease in pain. The photos of her in the blue & white was before her first massage & the one with her in the red is before her second massage this week. I’m continuing to treat her & help her get back to being able to do everyday activities, the things she loves pain-free & with normal movement. If you would advice regarding an injury, injury prevention or to book in with me, please do not hesitate to contact me. #sportsmassage #sportsmassagetherapist #recovery #injurytreatment #progression #injury #injuryrecovery #injuryprevention #treatment #massagetherapy #movement #painfree

02.01.2022 Congratulations to my client, Frances, who at the age of 66, has just got her red belt in Kung Fu. The red belt is the highest grading you can get in Kung Fu & Frances is 1 of only 3 women in Australia who has achieved this. I am very blessed to have Frances as a client & she is a true inspiration, having successfully battled breast cancer & gone on to do Kung Fu afterwards. She came to me after her daughter, Renee, back in January won the raffle prize I donated (a sports ma...ssage with myself) & gave it to her mum when CrossFit Inventive & G-Force CrossFit joined forces to raise money for the firefighters tackling the bushfires. She has been coming to me since, for which I am truly grateful for & I have been helping with loosening her muscles from the intense training she does. I love hearing about her Kung Fu & she really demonstrates how to never give up, that you can achieve anything. She is a beautiful person, both inside & out (& I also wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of her Kung Fu). I hope one day I may get to watch her do Kung Fu as it is incredible what she does. I hope this also encourages those who have had breast cancer, both men & women, that they can do contact sport & to not give up hope. Well done Frances, so well deserved & may you continue to inspire many.

02.01.2022 Wishing everyone a safe, healthy & Merry Christmas around the world. While for the majority of the world (myself included), it is a very different Christmas this year & not how we had planned, I hope you all are able to enjoy it in some way & stay safe. I also want to thank everyone who has, & continues to, support me & my little business, both those who are my clients & those who also spread the word & promote me. I am one of those that does a little dance every time I ge...t a booking (like in the UK Visa advert) as it truly does mean so much, so thank you & I am truly grateful . #christmastime #merrychristmas #christmas2020 #blessings #thankyou #supportlocalbusiness #staysafe #staysafeeveryone #sportsmassagetherapist #sportsmassage
