24.01.2022 Our crews are in attendance at a Paraglider incident and report that the road is currently closed between McGinnis Court and Rosins Lookout. We will advise updates as they come through.

22.01.2022 Fire Danger meter has been moved to High and the Local Fire ban has been lifted. But we do urge all our community to be cautious as the mountain is still too dry for complacency. You still require a permit for any fire over 2 metres and smaller fires must be attended with a decent water supply close by. Stay safe.

21.01.2022 It’s always nice to see our firefighters honoured. And this is a very special honour. Eva Salisbury is a 13 year old finalist in the 2020 Young Archies and she chose to honour the firefighters who protect her home and community. Thank you Eva.

15.01.2022 Hey Beechmont We’re thinking of you as your community continues to recover from the 2019/20 bushfire season. In an ongoing effort to protect life, property ...and the environment, there will be a multi-agency hazard reduction burn to the east of Beechmont Road on Thursday (27/08), weather permitting. This large strategic burn is going to be a team effort with representatives from Seqwater & Queensland Parks And Wildlife Service joining the Rural Fire Service (RFS). The burn may produce a bit of smoke, so if affected, please close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. Thanks for your patience. Beechmont area 2019

10.01.2022 Good Morning Beechmont The Fire Danger Meter returns to VERY HIGH again today due to high temperatures and warm dry winds. With little to rain the grass and forests remain very dry so extra care is needed at the moment. There have been a few small fires on private property in other areas that have quickly become larger uncontrolled fires. We certainly don’t want that happening. Remember to call 000 if you see fire or smoke Thank you all for keeping our community safe.

01.01.2022 Thursday, September 3rd. UPDATE regarding the Seqwater burn. The burn has been very successful and adds to the safety of Beechmont. ... The outcome has also been successful from an ecological point of view within the Hinze Dam Catchment. There will be ongoing smoke plumes within containment lines until the area receives some rain. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Seqwater are continuing to deepen some burning but these areas are well contained. Some obvious smoke will be seen this afternoon and into the evening. As the midmorning temperatures rise over the next few days we will be monitoring the burns closely. Fire danger rating is still Very High. The grasses and bushland remain very dry on the Beechmont Plateau and western escarpment. Please be extra vigilant with your fire ash and do not empty without soaking them in a metal bucket first. You must apply for a permit for fires over 2 metres in any direction.
