25.01.2022 Excitement is mounting. Have you driven by the courts lately? The new net posts went up last week. Today they started putting down the grass. Won't be long now.

24.01.2022 Check out the link to our new web site. You'll find info there about becoming a member of our club. Plus there is a special offer...this year's membership is free if you sign up before the middle of October.

24.01.2022 Spring Comp Grand Final tonight - weather permitting of course! Come along and cheers on your fellow members. We will also be throwing on a few snags on the BBQ. Don't forget about Xmas Monster Raffles tomorrow night at pub

23.01.2022 Update on the spring comp - The courts are still not in a state for opening to the public. Please let us know if you are in a position to give us a hand putting the court fence back together...maybe next Saturday 26th Sept but if that doesn't suit offer a date and time. In the meantime we will run grading nights this week on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Please spread the word, and if you haven't registered yet you can do so here play.tennis.com.au/beechwoodtennisclub

19.01.2022 Okay, so the court refurbishment is now complete. But if you've seen the lovely courts you've probably seen that there is still a bit of work to do. We are going to tackle it this Saturday afternoon 5th Sept. Jobs include taking rubbish to the tip, building a colorbond fence out the back, resecuring the old court fence section that was used as access, cleaning up the club house, putting leftover grass on our courtyard. The courts will then be ready for play. And a BIG thank you to those who turned up for last week's working bee. The triangle patch of grass is now a lawn again and the jacaranda and lilli pilli trees in opposite corners have had severe prunes. Leaves on grass courts can make them mouldy.

17.01.2022 Great news! You can now self-register on our web page. Here is the link https://play.tennis.com.au/beechwoodtennisc/Membership/Join

16.01.2022 Don't forget the working bee this afternoon at the courts. We will be there from 1pm to 4pm so drop in for an hour or 2. There is plenty to do. Bring gardening gloves.

13.01.2022 We have a start date for the comp. It is October 7th and it will run for 10 weeks. We are minimising cash handling so for those who have signed up, please deposit $70 for each player into the club's bank account (bsb 932000, acct 100454887, name as reference). This will cover ball fees, lighting and trophies. If you wish to pay per week you can but it will cost $8/wk.

12.01.2022 Attention all recently joined members: If you have not specifically signed up to play in this upcoming first competition on the new courts we have not put your name down. To avoid any disappointment and confusion could you please let us know if you are keen to play in the comp or whether you are just taking up the membership at this time, as time and spaces are limited. We are finalising the teams at the end of this week.

09.01.2022 The club's Annual General Meeting will be held this Wednesday 2nd September at 7pm at the Beechwood Hotel. This is an exciting time for the club as we have brand new courts to play on and there are a lot of new members showing an interest to play on them. The courts are now safe to play on and we will be able to hold coaching sessions and holiday camps for juniors in the very near future. We can also run social nights outside of our very popular competitions. As you can se...e we are also going digital for those who prefer that option. It is a very positive time to GET INVOLVED in this club. Being part of a club committee is also a great way of meeting new people and becoming fully entrenched in the community. If you can get involved 1 or 2 hours a week for a job such as treasurer or digital officer, or 1 or 2 hours a month for helping with the maintenance we can find something that will be just right for you. If you really want to get stuck in and make a difference the President's job is up for grabs, along with the Junior Development Officer. Bring a friend along to share a role and the load becomes even easier. For information about any role on the Beechwood Tennis Club committee, email [email protected] or phone Tracey Eastwood on 0400 929 480.

08.01.2022 Another tennis legend!

08.01.2022 Thank you to the awesome busy bees on Saturday morning that got our courts ready for business. The comp starts tomorrow night and we are now taking bookings for court hire. Just go to our website play.tennis.com.au/beechwoodtennisclub and select Court Bookings. Court hire is free for members.

07.01.2022 We had a very successful night last night with many people trying out the new courts and putting their name down for the spring comp due to start in a couple of weeks. See you tonight if you couldn't make it.

07.01.2022 To celebrate the return to Beechwood Tennis we are offering this for a short time only. Send us an email or message us with your Name, date of birth, address and email.

04.01.2022 Thank you to those who turned up yesterday morning to work in that horrible wind. We made great progress and there were fairies working this morning as well.

04.01.2022 Hi folks, it's time to start rummaging around the back of the cupboard for your trusty racket. Give it a good clean and make sure your strings and grip are ready to go as we bounce towards spring. We are now waiting for a few fine days in a row to get the last stage of the courts down which will be laying synthetic turf. Once that is done and the nets are up we will hold a working bee to give everything a good clean and to make sure we are ready for operation (in a COVID-19 f...riendly way). We are taking names now for those: a) wanting to play in the 2020 Spring Comp starting in September (date to be confirmed). b) wishing to help organise the teams in the 2020 Spring Comp. For more information, email [email protected] or ring Tracey on 0400929480.

04.01.2022 Beechwood Hotel has at last resumed its weekly raffles to support the local sporting clubs. Tomorrow night it is the turn of Beechwood Tennis Club to receive the proceeds. In the past this has been a major fundraiser for us, last year putting $2,500 in our bank account. This contributed to the works that have just completed at the courts. The committee encourages all members to visit the pub for a drink or a meal and buy a few tickets on a Friday afternoon. If not this Friday..., any Friday, as you will be supporting the other local clubs who, in turn, support us. It is $5 for 5 numbers and you can leave your name and number if you can't hang around. There are 10 prizes up for grabs. In the past they have been meat trays, fruit and veg trays and drink tickets but the new owners may put their own spin on things. If you want to meet the locals in a no pressure situation you can also take a turn at helping selling the raffle tickets. Just put your hand up to the friendly tennis club members doing the selling and become involved.

03.01.2022 If you're coming to the AGM, you may want to make a night of it.

03.01.2022 Who wants to play?

02.01.2022 Spring Comp update - all organised now. Definitely starting next week 13th October. The team list and draw will be emailed out tonight to players.

01.01.2022 The courts are holding up well in the pouring rain tonight
