17.01.2022 Thanks to parent Ben for this beautiful addition to our school entrance - a bench made of local stone and timber.

11.01.2022 It has been wonderful to get back into Emerald and Amethyst and use all the Montessori materials and activities that line our shelves during the morning work cycle. In the afternoon the children have been learning about the importance of our lungs and making a model to see how they inflate, as well as making models of the life cycle of a butterfly using pasta, being introduced to the language of fractions, painting like Andy Warhol, dancing, participating in shared reading, doing yoga and going to the Cycle 2 & 3 playground for our Perceptual Motor Program (PMP). Most importantly, the children are really enjoying playing and working with each other again.

08.01.2022 How does your garden grow? Nurturing nature is an important part of the Montessori curriculum, from the earliest age. Toddlers are shown how to water plants and compost waste. Older students study botany and agriculture. Every one of our classrooms has a custom-built kitchen (currently closed due to COVID, but hopefully not for much longer) and an outdoor learning area designed to support this important field of enquiry.... When our students succeed with something in their vegetable gardens they can experience the satisfaction of cooking and sharing with their peers. It seems that lockdown was good for the leeks this year!

06.01.2022 Book Week was the perfect opportunity to promote student wellbeing, by making time for collaborative fun and play. There were squeals of delight as students arrived at school dressed as their favourite book character. It was a party-like atmosphere and really wonderful to see the children having so much fun together after a year of disruptions and challenges.
