11.01.2022 This week is Book weekand though we’re not dressing up we are celebrating it with some activities and set ups in the rooms. The Pre Prep Room had the very hungry caterpillar board game set out on one of our tables and also had The very cranky bear set out on another small table for the children to quietly look through as well as play with the small cranky bear toy. We have asked the children if they would like to bring one favourite story book that they would like to show and share with their friends.

10.01.2022 Good morning families and community. While we are thankful that the 3-day lockdown for Logan and Greater Brisbane has ended, we will be reviewing our Covid policy and procedures to ensure our families, children and staff are able to comply with the precautions that will remain in place until 1am on January 22nd. The Queensland's COVID Safe Future plan dated for Monday 11th -Friday 22nd January is as follows:... - You MUST always carry a face mask with you when you leave home unless you have a lawful reason not to. You MUST wear a mask in indoor spaces (including childcare centres). The Children’s Centre of Beenleigh kindly asks families the following: - Wear a mask at ALL times when entering the centre (if you are not wearing a mask you cannot enter the centre) - Maintain physical distancing (1.5m) where possible. - Only 1 person to attend the service to drop children off/pick up. - If you need to speak to a staff member please call the centre and speak via phone conversation. - Temperature checks will continue for all children upon arrival. - Please sanitise hands on arrival and departure of the centre. - If you are experiencing any symptoms at all, please get tested and quarantine in your home. Please stay safe. As mentioned above we will be reviewing our practices daily and ask you to check in daily for any changes that may occur. Thank-you for your understanding and patience. The Children's Centre of Beenleigh Staff.

10.01.2022 Did you know....... UV radiation is not related to how hot or cold it is. You can still get burnt on cool or cloudy days. Australia has one of the highest levels of ultraviolet (UV) radiation in the world, so we all need to understand how to avoid exposure and what it means for our health. And for a major hazard, UV has some surprises up its sleeve. Along with sunburn, it can cause eye damage and premature ageingand not just in summer either. Outsmarting UV: top tips... Think UV, not heat! The sun can still be damaging on cool or cloudy days, and during the morning or early evening. UV radiation is not just a summertime concern. Watch for sun protection times and UV levels for your location on the weather forecasts, BOM Weather App and the SunSmart App. Sun protection is recommended when the UV index is 3 and above. 03.01.2022 All children have the right to experience quality education and care in an environment that provides for their physical and psychological wellbeing and provides support for each child’s growing competence, confidence and independence. Healthy eating and physical activity are promoted and appropriate for each child. Risky play is a natural part of children's play and is defined as a thrilling and exciting activity that involves a risk of physical injury; and play that provides opportunities for challenge, testing limits, exploring boundaries and learning about injury risk (Sandseter, 2007; Little & Wyver, 2008).
