12.01.2022 Did you know that hives aren’t just protected by their guard bees; but also a sticky antibacterial resin that cleans any pathogens that a foraging bee may have returned with. This sticky substance also fends off many predators.

08.01.2022 Hi all, just a quick message today about the weather. As it is becoming increasingly cold our little friends are becoming much less active. As a result, many new keepers are becoming concerned with their hives and are finding it tempting to open them, to see if there is a problem. We here at Bee Prepared are highly recommending that people DO NOT attempt to do this; as whilst the bees are less active in the colder months they have trouble trying to repair the damages done when the hive is opened. If you are concerned about your hives lack of visual activity we suggest just placing your ear to the entrance and listening for the very slight buzz.

05.01.2022 Hi all, We here at Bee Prepare want to start a conversation about different places Bee have claimed as their homes. This for example is an ordinary terracotta pot that’s has been home to theses (TH) Natives for the past 3+ years now. The pot is around 20x20cm and buzzing with activity. Placed up against a wooden fence with afternoon shade from a near by gum tree. ... Please feel free to share your most interesting Bee finds and have yourselves a great weekend!
