25.01.2022 I just can’t get enough if this design! This is my third version! Added teal to the mix, and love it!
25.01.2022 Whoops! I have just realised the photos got cropped when sending the post over from Instagram! Here’s another shot of the paintings side by side. Which would you prefer to paint? Let me know in the comments.
24.01.2022 Sample painting done for the Brush and Bubbles @ The Pink Deli on Friday, 30th October, 7pm! Actually a very easy painting, so if you would like to have a painting of this beautiful creature in your home, book now through the Pink Deli or PM me! Limited spaces! $50 per person includes hot beverages and nibbles and all painting supplies. Come and have some fun while getting creative! (BYO alcoholic beverages).
24.01.2022 Year 3 and Year 2 Laurel Burch inspired cats. Cool and warm colour knowledge assessed and the kids had fun thinking of different ways to decorate their cats.
22.01.2022 A small group tonight, but this has its advantages, as I can give a lot more focussed advice to each painter. The results are lovely, even though each painting is quite different. Every painter walked out happy with their painting, which is my goal.
21.01.2022 NEW ACTIVITY! 'FROTTAGE AND COLLAGE' Essential question: Which surfaces are the best to use to make 'Frottage'? ('Frottage' is the French term for making marks using texture on the surface of an item, and rubbing over it.)... 1. Today, go on a texture hunt. - Find items that are: soft, furry/fluffy, rough, smooth and bumpy. 2. Categorise all of those things into their groups. 3. Test out each of your collected items, by placing paper on top of the item, then rubbing over the item with a crayon on its side (**take the paper off the crayon first!) Are there any patterns made on the paper? 4. After testing all of the collected items, choose the ones that you think makes the best patterns. 5. Rub over the items again, and fill a couple of sheets of paper, using all of the items, more then once with different coloured crayons. 6. Cut out each of the sections. 7. Have a separate piece of paper ready to be the background of your art work, because you are now going to make a 'COLLAGE'. (Another French word, which refers to an artwork made with various small objects, in this case, paper shapes). 8. Cut shapes from your FROTTAGE pieces to make a table top, vase, flowers, leaves and stems......OR......cut out shapes that you can then form into a picture that interests you! e.g. a vehicle, or an animal, or something from a game you like to play. I would love to see what you make, so don't forget to post a picture in the comments! Have fun!

20.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who booked for my sea turtle brush and bubbles event, and was so understanding when I had to cancel due to my husband being involved in a serious accident. He is now recovering well, and I am currently reorganising a date with the Pink Deli to get us painting the beautiful sea turtle. Watch this space in the next couple of days - i will have a confirmed date very soon!
19.01.2022 A sneak peek at what I am working on at the moment. This will be a welcome sign for my son’s engagement party in a couple of weeks.
19.01.2022 It's official - we have a date! The January 2021 Kids Art Camp is on! We will be running just one camp this summer, and spaces are limited! January 11th - 13th, 9am to 12.30pm each day. Will be run at my home studio. (Situated in Churchman Brook Estate) details of address given at time of booking. The Art camp will be run as it has in the past - 3 half days, with morning tea included. $110 per child and there is a sibling discount. 18.01.2022 Not minding at all that the weather isnt playing nice while I’m on holidays! Good excuse to get painting! Here’s my newest and now my favourite! Version II of Songbird and Butterfly.
17.01.2022 So after a looong break due to CoVid and other personal events, I am finally able to say I am back, and ready to paint! After spending some much overdue time with my daughter and grandie from Karratha these holidays, I plan to jump back in to the Brush and Bubbles side of my business. If you would like to come along to an event, or would even like to host one of your own events, just message me! Lots of paintings to choose from! Here are just a few that I have done, but can come up with a design to suit your interest and suitable to beginners and up. I am mobile, so can come to you! If you know of any businesses that may like me to create an event at their premises, please let me know, as I am looking for venues where I might be able to hold regular events.
17.01.2022 Now here’s a great idea! The Early Childhood team from Carey Baptist had a fun Brush and Bubbles night with me, courtesy of a very generous parent (Liz Sacco) who purchased and gave BeezKneez Art gift vouchers as her end of year teacher gift. None of these ladies professed to being ‘arty’, but I think they all were very successful in following along to paint a protea.
14.01.2022 LET’S DRAW! Sorry I haven’t been posting as often. Back at school has made things crazy busy! Just in case you are still home with kids, here are a few drawing prompts for you. 1. A dinosaur playing a musical instrument. 2. A robot skipping! 3. A pizza with unusual toppings.... 4. If you lived on another planet, what would your house look like? 5. A monster playing sport. 6. A bug family at the dinner table. 7. A castle with an animal king or queen. Have fun with these! See more
12.01.2022 Intuiative painting. Abstract and painting the negative. Inspired by the work of Geraldton artist, Janeen Horne.
11.01.2022 Hi everyone! I am back from travelling around the Pilbara and the Coral Coast and am ready to paint up a storm! This month’s painting will be this gorgeous turtle which was inspired by our time camping on the beach at Ningaloo Station, where we had a number of turtle sightings! Come along to the Pink Deli on Friday 30th October (7pm) to learn how to paint this beautiful, gentle creature. Book through the Pink Deli. Dont forget to bring your choice of beverages! Kat will also be supplying hot drinks and a selection of her yummy nibbles for you to indulge in, as you paint. Spaces are limited to 15, so book now! $50 per person. See you there!
11.01.2022 The first of two kids holiday Brush and Bubbles was done at The Pink Deli this afternoon. These gorgeous kids were all happy with their masterpieces! Not sure which was more of a hit though - the painting activity or the free bottle of bubble mix each!
09.01.2022 Clay week at school this week! A lot of prep work but the lessons are fun! Around 600 pieces by the end of the week!
09.01.2022 Loving this artist's artwork at the moment! Being inspired and will soon have a free art lesson video up, on a piece inspired by Laurel Burch. Making this my project for this wet and windy weekend!
08.01.2022 Rest assured - after every Brush and Bubbles event, all equipment, including brushes, brush cloths and aprons are washed in hot, soapy water and dried in the natural sunlight. No Co-vid nasties around here!
08.01.2022 Finally had my first Brush and Bubbles event since CoVid hit. Very successful, with a great bunch of ladies who let their creative souls soar! Some great paintings were created and lots of laughs while we worked. Thank you to each of you for coming along tonight! A big thank you to Kat Jolley and the Pink Deli for hosting the evening.

07.01.2022 Due to the lockdown that was put into place today and the uncertainty on how the restrictions will be lifted, we are sorry to announce that the Brush and Bubbles scheduled for Friday 5th February @ The Pink Deli is now postponed. We hope to determine a new date for the 'Boabs at Sunset - Take Two" very soon. Please stay safe, keep in touch, and we'll keep you posted.

01.01.2022 Another successful Brush and Bubbles! Lots of first time painters tonight, but everybody was successful with their paintings! It was a full house tonight, and as we have had requests for the Boab Sunset to be done again, your wish is my command! So we will be doing the Boab Sunset again, on Friday 5th Feb! Contact Kat @ the Pink Deli if you missed out tonight, and would like to give this a go!
