25.01.2022 We are open today but have decided that with the uncertainty of the bushfire situation over the next couple of days we will close Friday and Saturday. We will reasses this over this period to decide if we reopen Sunday or Monday. Take care everyone.
24.01.2022 lt has been wonderful to see all of our fantastic customers in supporting our business over the last couple of days. Now is the time more than ever for everyone to be supporting our local businesses. As a local business we employ local staff and we support other local businesses. We stock many products from some small producers in the area. These suppliers also rely on the busy periods on the Sapphire Coast to keep their businesses going. Some of the local producers we buy f...rom include Wild Rye Bakery, Bega Valley Eggs, Shadracks Worchestershire Sauce, The Saucy Spice Co, James & Rose Condiments, Eden Preserves, Disaster Bay Chillies, Tathra Beach Dressings, Perfect Honey & South Coast Cheese. This list is endless as I have not even started on people such as the milk vendor, local baker, newsagency and all of the others we do business with on a daily basis. We ask when you go to shop, and in particular online, just think - can i buy this from a local small business? Lets support our local families first. Keep an eye out over the next few days when we will feature some of these great businesses. #buylocal See more
23.01.2022 To our Mitey Community, here at Vegemite we are deeply saddened by the devastation our country is currently facing due to the Australian bushfires. It is a tru...e testament to the Aussie spirit to see the efforts individuals and organisations are going to, to assist those who have been impacted. Our thoughts are with the brave firefighters and volunteers who are working tirelessly to protect this great country that we call home. As you may know, Vegemite is proudly Australian owned by Bega Cheese Limited and these fires are something that has personally impacted our own Bega (Valley) and family, not to mention many beautiful crops and agricultural sectors around the country to which we rely upon. Its because of this, we are continuing to look at the long term strategies we can put in place to ensure we show our ongoing support prioritising aid to our farmers, employees and the wider community. In the meantime, weve been consulting with Foodbank Australia to provide immediate relief support. Were donating $100,000 of product - VEGEMITE, Bega Peanut Butter and Picky Picky Peanuts. Foodbank is working around the clock to ensure that essential supplies reach those who need them most. You can learn more about how you can support Foodbank here: https://www.foodbank.org.au/ Australians are united by what we stand for to learn more about how you can support the bushfire crisis appeal, please click here: https://www.redcross.org.au//disaster-relief-and-recovery-.
23.01.2022 Some extra special customers this morning. Sent them off with a special Bega Thank You
23.01.2022 Meet one of our local suppliers, Disaster Bay Chillies, Disaster Bay Chillies is a business partnership involving Stuart Meagher and John Wentworth . ... Stuart and John combined their passions in 1999 to grow chillies on the Far South Coast of NSW. Stuart and John grow their own chillies organically. They produce over 2 tonnes of chillies which are hand harvested each season and then processed and cooked at a small factory in Eden. They grow up to a dozen different varieties of chillies from the very mild Anaheim Chilli to the scorching Naga Chilli. Some chillies have distinct tropical flavours, others are sweet and fruity whilst some are hot and peppery. Disaster Bay Chilli products have been developed to enhance the amazing array of tastes and textures found in the fresh chillies they grow. The product range is small but diverse concentrating on flavours rather than just the heat of the chilli. The range includes chilli chocolates, exotic sauces, liqueur jellies and even a sauce made with freshly smoked chillies and smoked garlic. With the help of family and friends Disaster Bay Chillies has evolved into a successful, award winning business yet it still manages to maintain the home grown, hand made approach that it began with 20 years ago. Disaster Bay Chillies stock their retail products in numerous retail outlets and restaurants within Australia, we have listed a few. *Eden Gateway Centre *Sprouts Cafe *Candelo Store *Bega Market Place *Eden Gateway Centre email: [email protected]

Tune to local radio ABC South East on 810AM or 106.3FM. Radio 2EC - 765 AM and Power FM - 102.5FM. We also need to be mindful of our own wellbeing and that of those around us. The impact of the Tathra and District and the Yankees Gap fires of 2018 is still very real for many who walk with us. These conditions might trigger feelings that are uncomfortable and perhaps take you by surprise. Thats normal and to be expected given what our community has been through. If you are feeling that way, reach out to family and friends, share your time, space and thoughts with others; you are not alone at this time. You might prefer to consult one of the telephone counselling services; Lifeline 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue - 1300 22 4636. The Australian Red Cross website (https://www.redcross.org.au/get-help/emergencies) also has some practical advice on looking after yourself in a crisis. Tomorrow (Dec 31) will be another testing day. We are one of a number of ongoing emergency situations in NSW. Now is also a time to come together as a community, check on each other, and make an offer of help. We also need to remember, we are playing host to thousands of people who are on holidays, away from their home and support networks. The Bega Valley has done this before and we are better and stronger for the experience. Stay informed, stay safe and think ahead. We will get through this. The next update from Bega Valley Shire Council will be at 9am tomorrow, December 31.

11.01.2022 We have been selling Perfect Honey for many years now. A great business to deal with. Chris & Victoria have expanded the products they sell and the customers love it. A chunk of the honeycomb on a cheeseboard with some creamy brie, a cheese & honey sandwich or wrap our cheese in their beeswax wraps - these products go hand in hand with our cheese. Located in Moruya on the South Coast and owned by Husband and Wife team Chris and Victoria Rutherford. The Perfect Honey Company ...is a second (almost third) generation honey manufacturing business specialising in all Australian Honey products sourced directly from Australian Beekeepers. Their range includes gourmet and bulk honey, honeycomb, creamed honey and beeswax food wraps just to name a few. When purchasing their products you are not only supporting a young, country based family, you are also helping other Bee Farming families across the entire East coast. Their amazing honey can be found throughout stores in NSW and the ACT including here at the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre along with our fellow Far South Coast stores such as the Bega Valley Market Place, Candelo General Store, Pambula Fruit and Veg, Cobargo Bakery and the Eden Visitor Centre. #buylocal #perfecthoney See more

06.01.2022 The Heritage Centre has been an icon in the township of Bega for 26 years welcoming tourists and travellers to rest, enjoy refreshments, sample our products and learn about the history of our Company and the Bega Valley community. The recently announced Government restrictions on the trading activities of cafes & restaurants and significant reduction in tourists travelling into the region has meant that the Heritage Centre is no longer able to continue to viably operate at t...his time. Regrettably, the Heritage Centre will temporarily close its doors to customers and cease operations until the restrictions are lifted and business can resume as usual. This will take effect from close of business Friday 27th March 2020 . We look forward to the time when the COVID-19 pandemic has passed, and our community and employees can once again freely enjoy the hospitality of the Heritage Centre.
