20.01.2022 It’s mental health week. Let’s talk about antenatal and postnatal depression. It is very important for new parents to learn to recognise the symptoms of antena...tal and postnatal depression so that they can ask for help as early as possible. The sooner the depression is identified and the right sort of support given, the earlier recovery can begin. 20.01.2022 There is lots of news media and community concern currently about respiratory viruses. Parents of breastfed babies and children want to know how to best protect... their little ones during this time. To help, the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) has recently released some updated information regarding the care of babies when you are unwell with a respiratory virus: www.breastfeeding.asn.au/bfinfo/breastfeeding-and-influenza If you have been diagnosed with or are suspected of having a respiratory virus, it is important to continue breastfeeding, where possible, to ensure your baby is protected by the antibodies in your breastmilk. Respiratory viruses are not transmitted via breastmilk. To reduce risk of transmission, those who spend time with your baby should wash their hands frequently and cover their mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. For specific information about coronavirus visit UNICEF www.unicef.org//novel-coronavirus-outbreak-what-parents-sh #COVID19 #Coronavirus #NovelCoronavirus #2019nCoV #RespiratoryInfection

12.01.2022 Request for participation in research from the University of Adelaide. Are you, or have you been, a breastfeeding mother? If you would like to share your thoughts or experiences on this topic, then we invite you to take part in an online survey. This survey will take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete. You can choose to keep your survey responses anonymous and all responses will be de-identified for publication purposes.
