The recently released ADF Report would be playing havoc with those with PTSD, and we are thinking of you. Stay Strong, as everyone isn't tarred with the same brush, despite the media focus on the negative side.

11.01.2022 This is my mum. Shes a nurse at Coffs Harbour hospital and in June she was severely assaulted by a patient who was on bail for another assault at the time. Mum... has had to take a lot of time off work and had to undergo a tonne of medical tests because of the attack. Today, after being let out on a second bail, not showing up to court dates and having warrents issued, the person who seriously assaulted a front line worker, was let out on community service by a Coffs Harbour magistrate. Im so furious that a person with prior assault convictions and who has seriously assaulted a health care worker can be let off with a slap on the wrist! This court system is an absolute joke, when is something going to be done to protect our front line workers?? Edit: Hi everyone, Thankyou so much for all the love and support you have sent through, we are feeling very overwhelmed. I didnt expect my post to be seen by so many amazing people, so Thankyou! Mum is doing fine, she is all healed up and back at work. I just wanted to reiterate my reason for posting this wasnt to go after Mums attacker, it was to make people aware how the court system is failing nurses especially here in Coffs Harbour. The Coffs hospital and police have been fantastic throughout all this. We cannot name and shame the person who assaulted mum due to patient confidentiality, but even if I could I wouldnt, because that was never my intention. Thankyou so much again from both mum and myself!

03.01.2022 The report of the NSW Bushfire Inquiry says to me that every time the Premier and David Elliott stood up at a press conference and told us that our firefighters... had everything they needed, they were lying to us. Lying. They didnt have the protective clothing they needed or the masks they needed. Our RFS went out in dirty smelly uniforms because they were only allowed ONE set. They chewed smoke for weeks and some were even hospitalised from what they were breathing in because they didnt have the masks they needed. They didnt have the equipment or fit-for-purpose fire trucks or respirators or communications systems. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Our firefighters didnt have everything they needed, and they still dont. What about analysis of the back burns that went wrong? What about issues of jurisdiction and agencies working together: how could we improve on what went wrong? Ill have more to say in coming days, but in a nut shell thats a lot of recommendations considering how well prepared and resourced we supposedly were before the 2019/20 fire season started. The Government only prepared for a normal fire season, and FAILED to listen to warnings from fire experts who were saying it was going to be anything but normal. . . .
