24.01.2022 ' . BeKonstructive Marketing has been working closely with our HR team to create a January 26 policy. BeKonstructive Marketing will be open January 26 this year, and every other year in which January 26 falls on a week day. Our new January 26 Policy allows all full time and part time staff who would normally receive a paid day off work for Australia Day on January 26 the option of working that day, in exchange of a paid day off of the...ir choosing in the following month. This is in line with our belief that January 26 is not a day for celebration. We acknowledge that the decision of whether to work on January 26th will be difficult to make for many of our team. Do they join their friends in a beach or pool party, or do they come to work that day? We will hold no judgement on their choice they are free to choose. We only hope that the option to choose will spur conversation and dialect around this subject matter and allow those who do feel passionate about this issue the freedom to act on their beliefs. Hand in hand with this policy, BeKonstructive Marketing will also make a donation to Yalari, an NFP that educates and empowers indigenous children through scholarships, that is equivalent to our staff wages for the day. We would like to say a huge thank you to Cherie at The Digital Picnic, who we have borrowed this policy idea from, along with our buddies at Watts Next for writing the policy documents in a very short turn around.



24.01.2022 Lets Start Little! We started working with one of our biggest clients six years ago. The first job they ever sent to us was a single Facebook post. Yep, thats right, one lone Facebook post ... They were creating a weekly blog on their website and they needed someone who could create an interesting post on Facebook for them to drive traffic to the blog posts. So we had a trial run with the client and created a Facebook post for them. Fast forward 5 years and that client is now one of our biggest on-going clients; as their business has grown so has BeKonstructive Marketing and we now work together in a close partnership delivering a range of digital marketing services every month. Were telling you this story because we want you to know - no job is too little! Some very insightful presentations by Izzie Kalaja, Luke Wheatley, Alissia Oddi and Sarah Mak! 06.01.2022 - Before we start telling you about this amazing new project of ours - no, this isnt a rebrand. The past couple months weve been quietly working on a new program to help young Brisbane marketers partner with not for profits to experience beneficial, fair, and legal internships to create change while learning from qualified digital marketers.... So often young marketers are exploited in intern programs which: dont provide the training and learning experiences the interns are there to receive, profit off their interns work, paying the intern nothing and charging clients for billable work; or, both. So we wanted to change that. We are so thrilled to already have BeKauses first pro-bono client, Share the Dignity, who are an amazing brand creating change in ending period poverty, and our first intern to go through this program, Harry, who has been able to get stuck into Share The Dignitys copywriting work while experiencing what its like to work in an agency. A quick special shout out to Helaina Gardina for all of her help in getting this program up and running, and of course to our Director Bek Drayton for creating an agency focused on helping young Brisbane marketers have a space to learn, grow, and most importantly, know their rights to work. There is a misconception that a companys logo and colour scheme is the beginning and end of a brand conversation - in reality they are the steps to take when figuring our your brand. When we hold a branding workshop, our first step is to really identify what the company stands for, and how you want it to be perceived. Is your company traditional and sophisticated? Is it clever and sassy? Determining the key brand values you want your business to represent should be the first step in your branding journey. 04.01.2022 Here's a little website tip for you to help decrease your website load time and improve your SEO score at the same time: Crop. Your. Images. Site speed is one of many contributing factors to your SEO score, and images can take a while to load (especially with our internet speeds lately ). Cropping and resizing images before uploading them to your site helps cut down the time it takes to load your webpage.... Try uploading pictures no more than 2000px wide for images the full width of your page, or 500-600px for in text images Another little tip is to use JPEG files, as they're smaller than PNG files. Unless you need to include a transparent background, or have a specific reason to use JPEG files, using PNGs is another way to improve your website's load time

It’s about reminding people you’re there for them and that have the capacity to listen if they are struggling right now.... This year, R U OK? Day reminds us there’s more to say after R U OK? It’s about committing to check in with people who are struggling, and to listen when they reach out, to keep the conversation going, and to help them find appropriate support. You may be saying that’s a lot. I don’t know if I’m the right person to do this and that’s totally okay! Then came the idea of Google Listings, where the thought that the best way to rank for the term 'Brisbane Marketing' was to make sure you had 'Brisbane Marketing' in your business name Now, we have have the glory that is SEO and the Google algorithm (which doesn't really care what your business name is, as long as your site content is good). Businesses are starting to use creative, original names (like BeKonstructive ) that stand out and mean something to either the brand or their audience. 01.01.2022 - Before we start telling you about this amazing new project of ours - no, this isn’t a rebrand. The past couple months we’ve been quietly working on a new program to help young Brisbane marketers partner with not for profits to experience beneficial, fair, and legal internships to create change while learning from qualified digital marketers.... So often young marketers are exploited in intern programs which: don’t provide the training and learning experiences the interns are there to receive, profit off their intern’s work, paying the intern nothing and charging clients for billable work; or, both. So we wanted to change that. We are so thrilled to already have BeKause’s first pro-bono client, Share the Dignity, who are an amazing brand creating change in ending period poverty, and our first intern to go through this program, Harry, who has been able to get stuck into Share The Dignity’s copywriting work while experiencing what it’s like to work in an agency. A quick special shout out to Helaina Gardina for all of her help in getting this program up and running, and of course to our Director Bek Drayton for creating an agency focused on helping young Brisbane marketers have a space to learn, grow, and most importantly, know their rights to work.
