25.01.2022 With the ongoing outbreak of the Coronavirus worldwide and notably the increase in cases across Australia, today the Federal Government released a $17.6 billion Coronavirus Stimulus Package to offset Coronavirus impact upon areas of the Australian Community. The Coronavirus Stimulus Package sets out to ensure as much money as possible flows into the economy as quickly as possible, with $11bn of the package to be delivered by June. The stimulus package targets different areas ...of the economy, with an emphasis on small to medium sized business and low-income earners. The Victorian State Government has established a $1.7 billion Economic Survival Package. This is in addition to the Federal Government response to Coronavirus. Previously, I had advised of the Payroll Tax relief that was offered by the State Revenue Office (SRO), but the following measures highlight the additional relief that Victorian taxpayers can also access:

LAND TAX RELIEF:... Land Tax Relief is now available to eligible landlords impacted by COVID-19. If you provide rent relief to your tenant or you are unable to secure a tenant, you may be able to claim a 25% reduction on your 2020 land tax bill.
