20.01.2022 Hey everyone! Long time between posts, I know. Truth be told, I have been lacking a bit of mojo lately, and struggling to come up with a topic, so I apologise if this post is a bit like an episode of Seinfeld. What a strange world we are all existing in at the moment! The freedom and liberties we once took for granted have flown out the window, and so many people have had their lives turned upside down and livelihoods decimated. 20.01.2022 Think about this today...

19.01.2022 Transformation Tuesday! From scruffy, green broken youngster in early August, to a confident young dressage horse a few weeks later. Love my job.

10.01.2022 I have a confession to make. I have a new man in my life, and I am a little bit in love. He isn't my usual type. He is shorter than I would usually go for, with red hair, pixie ears and exotic good looks. His name is Bazzy, and he is an 8yo purebred arabian gelding. Bazzy's back story is an incredibly sad one, but fortunately for him, he found his forever human in Hollie, who has given the poor boy the opportunity to come back from the brink of death, and go on to live the happy and healthy life he deserves. Warm up properly, and with a plan 6. Lateral work should be incorporated regularly 7. Never underestimate the value of transitions 8. Let horses be horses

05.01.2022 After all these weeks of uncertainty, it is fantastic to finally start to see a light at the end of the tunnel! While a lot of people have been making the most of their netflix subscriptions during social distancing, it would seem horse riders have been hitting the training hard and not giving up on smashing those 2020 goals. I have never been so busy coaching in my life! [ 333 more words ] http://aerialdressagequeen.home.blog//a-little-can-add-up/

04.01.2022 ""When a lot of folks can't get a horse to operate on a feel, in a snaffle, what most are going to tell you "hell, get a little more bridle, get a little more s...hank on it, get a chain on it" and then when he's really wanting to flip over then "tie his head down". If he really runs into the tie down then "get a bicycle chain over his nose".............I mean it DOESN'T STOP, IT BECOMES MEDIEVAL WHAT THEY DO. But when you get a horse to where he's operating on a feel; it doesn't make much difference what you have. Whereas a lot of people leave the snaffle bit because they flunked out, they failed...............and then they go and get another bit. Of course these tack salesmen love that. They go and get another bit and then they flunk out in it, ruin their horse. Then they ruin them in that, then get another bit and then pretty soon they've got a whole wall full of bits and they still can't operate the damn thing. All that money they've wasted on bits; they could've probably bought a decent saddle for the horse so he didn't have to put up with the junk they were riding in. Now that would have been something that would have been worthwhile. So if you don't get it done in the snaffle (the basics that a horse needs, the fundamental movements that all horses need to do for whatever you have in mind for them) before moving on to something else, well............you're not going to get it."" - Buck Brannaman. 04.01.2022 A great illustration of how a horse is knocked off balance by using the inside rein to turn/bend. The right is correct, as the horse is turning with both should...ers, the left horse has been knocked over his outside shoulder, and will fight for his balance beneath the rider by allowing his haunches to fall in. 03.01.2022 This is SUCH a big thing in horses. So often I hear he’d be better off with a rider who can take him further or he’s too good/talented for a rider like me. ...Here’s the thing. A horse has no idea if he’s good, bad, talented, useless, a Giselle or a fucking pigeon. Horses only want kindness, comfort and a metric shit-ton to eat. They don’t know that gymkhanas, Olympic Games or factories even exist. Horses only know that you’re nice to them, or not. Everything else is ‘whatever’ to them. Inside Track Eventing See more

01.01.2022 To improve your horse’s balance on your chosen line of travel "Imagine that your eyes project a thin, thread-like cobweb connecting your horse to your destina...tion. When you glance down at your handseven for a split secondthis fragile cobweb gets cut and your horse loses his orientation and, therefore, his balance." Susanne von Dietze Illustration by Sandy Rabinowitz
