02.01.2022 As we continue to reopen outdoor pools in Victoria amidst easing restrictions, our focus will be on children and young people who may have missed out on swimming lessons at an important stage in their lives as they develop confidence around the water. Aquatic centres provide a safe, social place to exercise and as we move into the summer months, a great way for kids to get back into practising vital swimming skills while reconnecting with their local communities.

02.01.2022 Last month the Mornington Peninsula Shire announced Yawa Aquatic Centre as the name for the new $47.5 million community facility located in Rosebud and managed by Belgravia Leisure. Yawa which means swim, or to swim, is the local indigenous word endorsed by the Bunurong/Boon Wurrung Traditional Owners, which draws on a local language that reflects over 40,000 years of history.
