23.01.2022 Would you give birth at home with no medical professionals present? A growing number of Australian women are choosing to "freebirth" because they don’t want to go to hospital, and they can’t find a private midwife to assist them. Click here to read the full story: http://ab.co/2wESkvF

08.01.2022 Thanks ABC, for a mostly balanced and pretty positive segment (although bleak times) in that the issues surrounding homebirth insurance were discussed without t...oo much sensationaliam. I wish that the comments about contemplating death had been rounded out by saying that most women contemplate death as they approach birth. It's in the field, it's part of the picture, it's part of what makes birth so powerful and transformative... Prof Wallace, great to hear you say Homebirth is safe... And Hannah Dahlen - always dancing on the edge of the system and being woman centered with such brilliant dexterity. http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2017/s4726100.htm

05.01.2022 http://www.dailymail.co.uk//Photographer-Jessica-Jackson-w My two cents...Caesarean births often make feel women out of control, they may feel anxious and a...fraid about their baby’s life and their own and they may feel isolated or alone (even if they are in a room full of people). These are all risk factors for development of postnatal posttraumatic stress disorder or postnatal depression or anxiety. Birth photography is a way to address all of those risk factors. By giving mothers the choice to have a birth photographer, at an out of control time, it is a way to empower them, and provide them with incredible imagery to help them to see their caesarean, as a beautiful, strong and joyful event. A mother’s mental health is worth a changing policy. Yaay Jes Jessica Jackson Itty Bitty Photography!!! I'm so happy that your blog about your experience the other day is making national headlines. This is the way forward to make caesarean mothers voices heard. Patient rights, childbearing rights, women's rights.

03.01.2022 This is great! More women and the health care professionals caring for them need to pay more respect to this time
