17.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just Nikki again. Just a few words to get off my chest a little Thank you to everyone for the love and compassion you have shown us in yet anothe...r shattering time, and to the beautiful person who kindly left a bouquet of wildflowers under the grey horse at the front gates of our appropriately named Grey's Park Lodge. I share the following with you all from my shattered heart, or those who choose to read it, as it is appropriate for the current time in how I feel and I think I can speak for mum in saying this too. We always knew Subbie would tell us when he was ready, and yesterday (Saturday 29th of August 2020) he did just that. His work here was done and there were greener pastures waiting for him with our dad. His heart was finally broken and he was ready to go. I can't help but to be sad, and the tears continuously flow, my heart is completely shattered, but my mind knows he is with our dad again now where he belongs, he stayed as long as he felt we needed him to help us through some of the pain and grieving from the loss of dad, but he knew he was further needed up in the clouds with his best mate. They are now together forever and forever at peace. It hurts like crazy but we always knew he would tell us, and tell us he did. Rest easy now my darling boys, for you will never again suffer any form of pain. You are where you are meant to be. Your legacy and your story will forever live on, being passed through the generations and honoured by all. You put smiles on the faces of all you two met, the sick, the elderly, school children and countless others. You helped raise millions for those in need. You travelled near and far including Dubai. You know each other inside out. There will never be anyone like either of you and there will never be a pair quite like the two of you. You both taught many so much, but not quite like what you both taught me. I can proudly say I am the person I am today for having the two of you in my life. You will both forever be in my heart and mind. A story that will live on forever. Now don't worry about us, we will continue your legacy and we will work to make you both proud. We love you both forever and always. Rest easy now and fly high for your work here is done, forever and always in the hearts of many. Until we meet again. P.s. 06.01.2022 So guys, about that last cryptic post! I do have EXCITING NEWS! Some call me crazy.... but I’ve been selected to star in a ground-breaking TV show as an offici...al TV cast member!!!!!! This international travel series will take me away to a secret location for 6-days of fun and adventure, with all the action captured by an award-winning film crew to be broadcast nationally. Adventure All Stars is produced by the internationally acclaimed Charity TV Global and pre-filming, I will be fundraising and raising awareness for something very close to my heart - cystic fibrosis and in particular Cystic Fibrosis Queensland. As many as you know, our boy, Chase was born with Cystic Fibrosis. In the short time this warrior has been on the earth, he has undergone way too many hospital visits, stays, tests, needles & stress, especially for a boy of only 4 years old. We are told statistically, he will have a shorter life than most. We’ve also been told that we need to prepare for a liver transplant within 5 years as his liver is deteriorating and not normal for anyone, let alone a kid of his age. Every day, he takes countless medications to stay on top of his condition and it sure takes its toll on the whole family, let alone him. As his mum, I have stayed awake crying at night wondering what his future holds. His Dad, Clayton goes above and beyond to make life better for all of us, and his sister, Ruby is protective and loving more than you could ever realise. Not to mention our extended family and friends - because I know it affects them, too. To make all this just that little bit easier to deal with, Cystic Fibrosis Queensland have been there for us for support, funding and equipment when needed. And I’m so excited to help give back - especially with the backing of a TV show, such as this!!! He delivers all that hay? He spoke of countless hours and the distances they drive Feeding starving stock, to keep bush hopes alive They do not get assistance from your tax funded hat They do it on their own, all off their own bat I’m not politically minded and I don’t have any clout And I know you’ve done a tour, to learn about the drought But there’s just some burning questions, that have left us feeling beat Why did we fund a foreign land, to learn to cut up meat? JAnd what about those soccer boys, who went and got all lost You pulled out all the bloody stops, plain just showing off You’ve bigger problems here at home, there’s drought up to our necks So what does your mob go and do ? Give them big fat cheques! Don’t they have a government to deal with all this stuff? Why should it be up to us, what’s with all your fuss? Should we not be reigning in and look after our own Have you never heard the phrase charity starts at home? I realise there’s many things, that need an allocation And I also can appreciate, complex trade relations I’m not sure if you realise, but if our stock all die, There won’t be any trade you see, your deals will all run dry As a rule we’re not a whinging lot, our requests are but a few Most of us who work the land, are tested, tried and true We respect that we are guardians, and sustain it for the kids But I often have to wonder, what future will it bring? I guess all that I’m wondering, is where’s the Aussie aid? Wrapped up in a swag of tape, only then to be repaid ! There’s Aussie blokes and chicks out there, putting you to shame Helping fellow Australians, in their time of pain I’m just a simple farmer, grazier, wife and mum And even though we’re feeding stock, we’re better off than some I’ve never had to shoot a cow, who could no longer stand But many have before me, and I pray, I’m not dealt that hand So will you take another look; admit that we’re in strife ? And do more than bloody empathise, before another farmer takes their life ? 03.01.2022 I have a little Satnav It sits there in my car A Satnav is a driver's friend It tells you where you are I have a little Satnav... I've had it all my life It's better than the normal ones My Satnav is my wife It gives me full instructions Especially how to drive "It's thirty miles an hour", it says "You're doing thirty five" It tells me when to stop and start And when to use the brake And tells me that it's never ever Safe to overtake It tells me when a light is red And when it goes to green It seems to know instinctively Just when to intervene It lists the vehicles just in front And all those to the rear And taking this into account It specifies my gear. I'm sure no other driver Has so helpful a device For when we leave and lock the car It still gives its advice It fills me up with counselling Each journey's pretty fraught So why don't I exchange it And get a quieter sort? Ah well, you see, it cleans the house, Makes sure I'm properly fed, It washes all my shirts and things And keeps me warm in bed! Despite all these advantages And my tendency to scoff, I only wish that now and then I could turn the bugger off! See more
