16.01.2022 A correctly fitting saddle is of upmost importance to every horse owner. An ill fitting saddle can cause damage not only to the horses back muscles, shoulders and pectorals but can indirectly cause problems throughout the entire body. The unbalanced pressure restricts circulation causing atrophy and spasms making your horse agitated and uncomfortable from being in pain. Common symptoms are shortened stride with an unwillingness to extend the trot or stretch out in gallop or j...ump, biting, kicking pinned ears while doing up the girth and moving off whilst mounting up. Your saddle should be fitted by an accredited saddle fitter and your horse treated for any muscle dysfunctions. Some cases may take several treatments and time to retrain the horses muscle memory so they realise what use to hurt no longer does.
