25.01.2022 Congratulations to Kate Heaslip @ The Book Incubator who is the other half of Bellas Challenge. Kate is the master of story telling helping others tell their stories. Kate believes everyone has a story to tell. Kate was inducted into the WA Womens Hall of Fame. Kate gave so much of her time and energy to help me get the book out even when I thought it couldnt be done at times. She made it happen. Our book has spread the 17 UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development around... the world, contributed towards an exhibition, donated money for a bottle topping machine in Indonesia, two sewing machines in Malaysia for girls enterprise, back pack for schools in outback communities so they had an even start to the school years, numerous donations to local food drives and charities for homeless and with community help also contributed towards the Homeless lockers project in Bunbury. It now has the offer to be translated into many other languages and help so many others spread the Global goals. 13.01.2022 Today is International Womens Day. In honour of this, I can think of no better person to pay tribute to than the South West Regions own Bella Burgemeister. It... was wonderful to be nominated alongside Bella and so many others in the Women in Environmental Action Awards and Im so delighted to congratulate Bella on winning the award! Bella is an example of the hope and possibility that can spring when compassion and conscientiousness are cultivated in the young. Through Bellas Challenge she has used kids speak and illustrations to convey important world issues and sets challenges for children to help work towards a brighter future. Bella is an example of the future I believe is possible for girls, women and anybody else who seeks to dream up a better world for all of us. The future is bright when we shine together.
13.01.2022 A massive weeks wrap up- Youth Leadership Conference - Changemakers Panel with Wil Massara - Chief Executive Officer & Founder of Youth Leadership Academy Australia and Lexy Mcdonald who created an app HerHelp. Thanks @Wil Massara for a great experience and conference. Capel Shire Community Award night - I was nominated for Young Citizen of the year. Youth are doing amazing work and changing the world. In a speech it was said we are future leaders but I say we are leaders rig...ht now! Keep up the great work! Changing your World Conference - at City of Canning with Millennium Kids. Finally got to see Damon Gameau speak but missed meeting him. Next time! We spent the day with 85 kids determining what was important to their future, future generations and the planet.We ran workshops, collaborated and listened. So many passionate informed kids. Seantelle Walsh created an amazing art work for the City of Canning from all the ideas flowing. She heard the big and small issues and placed them into the art. Such an amazing artist and person. We presented the artwork to the CEO and a full days ideas and thoughts on how to make their community and planet more sustainable. 04.01.2022 This is Celeste and she is 9. Celeste and her Mum Maria attended the Sydney Global Strike 4 Climate. Celeste set up and information stall to help educate others. This was the message I received from Maria. My daughter prepared a speech on your cause and your awesome work in Bunbury and Australia as a whole - she presented it today and set up an info booth to share your story. She loved learning about you and the great work youre doing Then we marched!!!!...
