25.01.2022 After months in isolation, our Roving women were finally reunited. With the 2020 Rovers tour postponed to 2021, we are thrilled to be able to work together filming some travel adventures with Barbara Lowing and Roxanne McDonald. Big thanks to Critical Stages for making our Redcliffe day trip possible. #Rovingwomen #ArtMatters #BellooRovers

23.01.2022 Supporting Chenoa Deemal and all First Nations artists.

22.01.2022 Roving women in the Glasshouse Mountains ... off-road adventures, friendly farmers, border closure dashes and more! Thanks to Critical Stages for our second day filming and to our exceptional team: the intrepid performers: Roxanne McDonald and Barbara Lowing, videographer Shaun Charles, director/flecky girl/grip Caroline Dunphy and, on fluffy muff, Katherine Lyall-Watson!

21.01.2022 Recently our Co-Artistic Director, Caroline Dunphy, chatted with ArtsHub on the different skillsets, challenges and joys of collaborating (albeit virtually) in creating ROVERS webisodes. Read full interview with ArtsHub here https://tinyurl.com/yxsmh6vw And watch the first episode of ROVERS here www.criticalstages.com.au/screening-room

21.01.2022 Wow! Carve out 15 minutes to watch something incredible. Good Company Arts have created this exceptional VR film/exhibition and have made it free to watch until the end of the year. If you're watching it on your computer - keep your fingers on the mouse so that you can move around the universe and take in the exceptional details all around you. This is like a meditation on the stitching together of the universe. We came away filled with awe and hope. Thank you Daniel Belton and all the team at Good Company Arts. Belloo can't wait to be in a rehearsal room with you again. https://vimeo.com/430561166

20.01.2022 We can't wait to share our digital adventures with you ... starting next week on Critical Stages's screening room. Follow the Rovers adventure with Aunty Rox and Barb as we do the 2020 pivot! #Rovers #RovingWomen #WildWomen #Pivot

18.01.2022 Today, Caroline and Katherine would have been returning from our 2nd collaborative project in Japan this year with Idiot Savant Theatre Company (Japan) and Good Company Arts (NZ) for the Tokyo Tokyo Festival in the Akiruno region. It was not to be however due to Covid, though we are grateful to be in good health and thankful for the opportunity to postpone our involvement and production until 2021 all going well in the world of international travel . #theatre #internationaltravel #collaboration #theatreproject

18.01.2022 Shaun Charles is the man behind the lens and we LOVE what he has captured of the new ROVERS web series. Every frame is a delight and you get to see it for yourself tomorrow! The second webisode available on the Critical Stages Screening Room Wednesday 21 October https://criticalstages.com.au/screening-room/ Barbara Lowing

17.01.2022 The Rovers team is on the road, meeting up with other adventurous women and taking to the land. Monday was the first day of our film shoot and, in the space of an hour, there was a heatwave, a vehicle malfunction (melted fuses), a horrendous traffic accident (feeling for those involved), quarantine developments from Adelaide and conversations with a herd of donkeys! We thought we’d covered all risks in our planning but 2020 has a way of chucking curve balls. Fortunately, no...thing stops Roving Women and Barb and Rox are a force to be reckoned with. Can’t wait to share their adventures with you. Thanks to Arts Queensland for making this project possible, and to Vanda Curtis, Karen Chicoteau and the Donkey Society of Queensland for their warm welcome. #rovingwomen #conversationswithdonkeys #artsqueensland

16.01.2022 Check out our interview with Queensland Theatre on how the company was formed, previous works and our creative ethos: "Diversity and inclusivity have always been a strong part of Belloo’s ethos. Hearing and honouring diverse voices and stories, casting and intercultural collaboration are all part of the process of making our original works and contributing to Australia’s rich cultural landscape." Caroline Dunphy, Co-Artistic Director Read Part 1 of the interview with Queensland Theatre here https://tinyurl.com/y3dqxsgz

15.01.2022 At 4pm today (14 October) our first webisode of Rovers with Roxanne McDonald and Barbara Lowing premieres on the Critical Stages website: https://criticalstages.com.au/screening-room/ Come and join these gorgeous actors on the road with us. (Two hours to go now!)

15.01.2022 For everyone in need of some heart and soul healing in this time of fear and isolation, here is the wonderful Kameno delivering the Heart Sutra at Teishoin temple. May this be a time for all of us to reflect, consolidate and take great care of each other whilst in a time of physical distancing. Filmed by Daniel Belton and Good Company Arts during our season of House in the Dunes with IDIOT SAVANT theater company. "Form is empty, emptiness is form"

15.01.2022 We're very sad to announce that Queensland Theatre’s season of our original new work Phaedra has been cancelled. Our hearts go out to the all-local, brilliant team we were assembling for this work and to all the artists who’ve lost work due to COVID-19. We hope to find a way to bring our unashamedly Queensland, satirical interpretation of a Greek tragedy to the stage one day soon. Until then, vale Faye-dra. Katherine, Caroline, Kathryn & Danielle xx

14.01.2022 Belloo Creative was invited to participate in The Impossible Project - Anna Tregloan's mission to collect and celebrate projects that never reached their potential, nor their audience. Anna realised that, with the impacts of COVID-19, the number of works that are impossible is overwhelming and heartbreaking. It's not just individual works made impossible but whole formats and techniques. She decided it was essential to make a record of this time. Essential that we build an ...evolving, creative archive and memorial to creations stopped in their tracks. Some may begin again but will remain marked by this virus and we must record this schism in their ascent. Most sadly many works will end here and it is crucial to mark that passing. Anna interviewed Caroline Dunphy and Katherine Lyall-Watson about their original version of Phaedra and attempted to capture all their ideas in a sketch. We love what's she's created and that she's found a way to keep the project alive, despite 2020. https://theimpossibleproject.com.au/phaedra

12.01.2022 It’s WORLD THEATRE DAY Normally a day for celebration but it’s difficult to celebrate while theatres and performance venues are closing, people are losing their jobs and shows are cancelled for the short and long term due to COVID-19. Artists however are banding together to soldier on because theatre and art are in our blood. We d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and shout the love out to all theatre workers globally! It’s hard to imagine that just over a mo...nth ago Belloo were in Yokohama, Japan bringing House in the Dunes to life with IDIOT SAVANT theater company and Good Company Arts. We feel so fortunate to have shared time in close (physical) company with passionate artists from other countries and other caring and visionary people who helped bring our show to life . We hope you enjoy this little taste of our behind the scenes video compiled by Shaun Charles Talking Birds Media ... an insight into a backstage world rarely seen and a little on the fly street action. Stay safe and take good care everyone. #TheatreMatters #StoryLifeArt https://vimeo.com/393555608/f6bdb1b567

12.01.2022 This is a fantastic opportunity from our good friends at Dead Puppet Society. They're offering Brisbane artists the opportunity to propose an idea for creative development, culminating in a weekend of public showings. Up to three successful projects will receive training in visual theatre making, mentorship and direction from senior artists of the company, a modest fee to put towards the cost of materials and/or production costs, and facilitated rehearsal time. EOIs close on 22 June.

12.01.2022 Huge congratulations to the indomitable, brilliant Jo Twottie Thomas who has just been named the Queensland winner of the Telstra Business Women's Awards. We are so proud of you, Jo and of Metro Arts.

12.01.2022 The second webisode of ROVERS is now live on the Critical Stages Screening Room! It’s not an ordinary journey. It’s not a tick on a bucket list. Aunty Rox and Barb are back for the next stop on their roving adventure,. They’ve taken to the hills the Glasshouse Mountains to be exact to explore First Nations herstory, tales of women in charge, and why pine forests are so scary.... Watch here https://criticalstages.com.au/screening-room/

11.01.2022 Critical Stages is one of those incredible companies that scores huge goals with a tiny team. We have had the privilege of working closely with Chris, Mel and Emma and are so impressed by their passion and dedication to the industry, their advocacy and their leadership. If you can support them to keep touring Australian indie works around the country, please do. Every little bit helps and they'll make it go a LONG way.

10.01.2022 Danielle Shankey - one of Belloo's founding members and our dynamo producer - is putting her passion into action by running for State Government! We are so proud of her and can't wait to see the changes she brings to her community and to politics. While we have to farewell Dan from the Belloo team, we are proud to join the Shankey4Everton team and can't wait to see what she accomplishes next. We <3 you Dan! https://www.facebook.com/shankey4everton. #Shankey4Everton #UnstoppableWomen #MakingADifference

08.01.2022 "If I have to pivot any faster I’m going to displace my hip! 07.01.2022 In this time of uncertainty, cancelled bookings and empty calendars, we are mindful of the independent artists who, in many cases, have lost a whole year's work. We are very grateful to be in a position to offer some employment and are mentoring, contracting and commissioning other artists while we can. This month, we are celebrating being able to work with Kirk Page, Alice Marsh, Zac Boulton, Shaun Charles, Maddi Jane Römcke and Kristen Maloney. More details coming soon of the projects we're working on!

06.01.2022 Today Caroline Dunphy and Katherine Lyall-Watson are pitching ROVERS at arTour Queensland Touring Showcase 2020. The live, virtual Showcase aims to be a celebration of performing arts in Queensland. It is wonderful to have the opportunity for Queensland theatre-makers to pitch their work to state and national presenters. We are particularly excited to showcase our work, ROVERS, celebrating adventurous women and starring Roxanne McDonald (one of country’s most experienced an...d beloved Aboriginal performers) and Barbara Lowing (one of Queensland’s most renowned dramatic performers). Wednesday 21 October 12:30pm to 2:00pm. More information available on arTour website: https://tinyurl.com/y5ybj2oa

03.01.2022 Brisbane peeps - get yourselves to a phone or device quick smart! Brisbane Festival tickets go on sale at noon today and you don't want to miss out. Louise Bezzina and the team at #BrisFest have assembled a smorgasbord of goodness, most of it free, but there are some very special ticketed performances and we reckon they'll book out very quickly as Covid restrictions mean limited numbers, safely distanced from each other. We're adding links to some of our top picks in the comments below in case you need suggestions. - And for our friends in Victoria - our hearts and love are with you and we hope you'll soon be able to experience live performances again.

01.01.2022 Mentoring new and emerging artists is an important part of Belloo's ethos and we're delighted to announce our latest mentees: Yonghui Wang and Amer Thabet. We're so looking forward to working with Yonghui and Amer and supporting them on their future projects. You can get to know more about Yonghui and Amer here! http://www.belloocreative.com/belloo-mentorship-program
