25.01.2022 We are enjoying a virtual Mothers Day (from a distance) at Bells By The Beach, Ocean Grove. No guests relaxing, no coffee or bacon and eggs... just this vision of what life will return to hopefully after tomorrow. Wishing all mums, grand-mums, and mums-to-be a peaceful day socially distancing with their family and fur-kids.

23.01.2022 Oh what a beautiful day at Ocean Grove. Were back home after a 40 minute walk (all masked up and with foggy glasses) around Kingston Estate. During past months weve watched houses go from slabs to buildings with roof and walls, new gardens sprouting plants (and weeds), and kids riding bikes in open areas. We hear little birds twittering in the fields and a couple of hawks hovering and waiting for dinner to move thru the grass. A good place to live.

23.01.2022 Hello to you all.... life goes on at Ocean Grove, new restrictions from today (3/8) until who-knows-when. We are anxiously waiting for todays announcement regarding work in regional Victoria. We consider Bells as our retirement job, although a tiny business - I hope we can keep it open. We have had many guests re-scheduling to dates in the future, and a few total cancellations, but we are optimistic we can still receive guests from regional Victoria. Our house is looking lonely with no human or doggy guests. Only time will tell.

Our team has recently undertaken and completed successfully a Victoria State Government Return to E-Learning course - Operating a Hospitality Business in a COVID-19 Environment. Our place is now even more squeaky clean, and a good reason to enjoy a few days away from places like Ballarat, Bendigo or even Lakes Entrance.

At the moment we have a lovely family from Snake Valley (suburb of Ballarat) who are staying for 3 nights with their fur-kids Annie and Tinker. If you live in regional Victoria, you too can stay. 17.01.2022 Quite a few guests have stayed at Bells since my last post. Back in June we welcomed Louise and family, Robyn and John, Tamara and Scott, Andrew and Colleen and Jackie and her group, along with their fur-kids. Things have quietened down now with the latest Melbourne Metro/Mitchell Shire lock-down, but other guests from regional Victoria can come and stay at our doggy space. Please consider a visit, our house is warm and welcoming and you can get a coffee and food from most local cafes.

17.01.2022 The 'team of two' at Bells By The Beach is getting really excited... the 'ring of steel' should be snapped at 11.59 on 8 November. We'll be able to welcome new guests who have been so patient and understanding when we re-scheduled their holidays. Looking forward to saying 'hello' to Anna, John, Claire, Rebecca, Jenny, Gary, Chris, Travis and their families and fur-kids. Photos were taken 2 days ago when the lawns were mowed and garden beds tidied up. A fragrant pink rose hangs over the fence near the garage and guest arrival spot.

The beach is always popular with dogs on leash, in appropriate areas. Bells 'By The Beach dog-friendly team welcome fur-kid Ollie and his pet-parents from the Yarra 'Valley - their 12th holiday at our place. They found us on Dogs on Holidays back in 2011 and are one of many groups of loyal supporters who consider our place as their 'go to' holiday re...treat over here on the Bellarine. Bells By The Beach is looking OK... the sudden burst of winter weather hasnt deterred us from getting the garden into shape - scratching the dirt and pebbles, taking the chain saw to spikey Yukkas, trimming straggly bushes and planting more succulents. Were winning the battle of the weeds - no chemicals, just hand weeding, hard work! Couch grass loves rain...the runners seem to grow before our eyes. Taunting us to get weeding again!
