22.01.2022 We have just completed our Head and Heart Mindfulness program during Term 3 for the Emu and Kangaroo children each Thursday. This term we focused on various social skills, including sharing, taking turns, being polite and much more! We will be happy to have Georgia (our mindfulness teacher) back in Term 4 to do another program focusing on resilience.

21.01.2022 We hope you have some wonderful family time over this coming long weekend. We will be closed on Monday the 5th October. we will be back on Tuesday the 6th. Stay safe and well.

21.01.2022 What an exciting start to the day in the Emu Yard! Our President, Emma officially opened our new yard this morning. We are thankful that Emma was able to come and open our new playground. Due to COVID we made this a small ceremony with the early morning Emu children witnessing Emma cutting the ribbon and declaring it finally open.... We have planned our use of the space with the children and have created risk assessments and risk positive uses for the space. We know that having opportunities to climb, take risks and to explore capabilities has such positive impacts on learning and development. We hope you get to come and have a look. Each room will be able to utilise the space and will have fun exploring and extending their sense of curiosity, fun and adventure. Thanks again Emma!

18.01.2022 We are thrilled with the results of our working bee on Saturday. We were so fortunate to have the New Vine Lakes Baptist Church join us, along with some families and staff and their families. We have completely revamped our front gardens, put in retaining sleepers and painted the front of the building. Wow what a big job!!!

16.01.2022 Happy Saturday !! Our working bee is on! We have a day planned of painting and mulching our gardens. We were so fortunate to have Touchwood Tree services help us remove a tree and tidy our trees in the front yesterday . Our job now is to freshen it all up with mulch, sleepers and some TLC. ... Feel free to pop down- even if it is just some encouragement.

14.01.2022 A wonderful Circle of Security course is coming up if any of our families are interested. The circle of security is an invaluable resource for both families and our educators when working with your children.

13.01.2022 Reflective practices are an essential part of our role here at BCCCC. We value our conversations with our educators and families, connecting and sharing ideas. Part of the recent conversations has been regarding our sustainability practices. We have initiated a bin trim program, that supports and fosters recycling in our service. We have recently reflected on our sustainability practices in reach room and look forward to sharing with you our updates and changes. We know that it is small, repeatable steps that we take that make the difference over time. We are excited by the new arrival of our eco-friendly and reusable sunscreen applicators. This will assist us in minimising our waste in our daily sunscreen applications. it is a small step, but one in a positive direction.

11.01.2022 Today we celebrated a very special milestone as Gianel celebrated her 30 year anniversary working with us here at Belmont CCCC. We are so grateful to have her with us and wanted to say thank you for her ongoing dedication to our service

10.01.2022 The Koalas enjoyed some time in the rain last week, suited up and in their cool gumboots and rain suits. On these rainy days, it’s nice to get out in the weather, and enjoy an array of weather patterns. As you can see, the children enjoyed collecting the water in their hands and discussing how cold it was. Bring along your gumboots on rainy days so you can also get amongst it

07.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that from February 2021, we will have our own "Artist in Resident" Sophie Mill coming in to teach art to the Kangaroo room (4-5 years), on a Wednesday each week. Sophie has studied art from a young age and has worked with many reputable schools and companies, providing high quality art lessons and has travelled the world, exhibiting her artwork in many galleries. She also has qualifications in Early Childhood and Primary teaching, as well as running her own successful art school. We look forward to seeing what this brings next year.

01.01.2022 We were very excited to have an early morning visitor yesterday to teach us about bees and beekeeping in the Kangaroo Yard Stuart from the New Vine Lakes Baptist Church brought all of his bee keeping equipment in and showed us where the honey in our jars comes from! We talked about how the bees make the honey and how they seal it up with wax. Stuart showed us how the honeycomb is taken out wax scraped off to let the honey out- and then we all had a turn at ‘spinning the ho...neycomb! We turned a handle that spun it very fast letting the honey ooze out into the big drum. Once we all had a turn Stuart showed us how we can turn the tap at the bottom and collect the honey into a jar. We are SO LUCKY that Stuart kindly made a jar for everyone to take home! Experiences like this are a wonderful way for children to connect their daily experiences with our bees outside to the jars of honey they have at home. Taking part in the whole process safely is a wonderful learning opportunity for the Kangaroos and we are very fortunate to have wonderful connections with our community that can provide experiences like this. 01.01.2022 We were thrilled to receive a donation of some lovely Christmas hampers from New Vine Lakes Church. To decide which families were lucky enough to receive them, we drew names out of a hat and the winners were Lacey and Stevie McGuiness and Fern Green. Congratulations to these families and the church for their kind donations.
