25.01.2022 Tonight was our last night for 2020, and what better way to send off the year than going for a paddle in the lake. 2020 may not have been what we expected, but we thrived and grew and somehow managed to become even more awesome than before. To all our wonderful Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Leaders and familys - a massive HOP-HOP-HOP, 1-2-3 WOLF and B-R-A-V-O-O-O. ... From Everyone at 1st Belmont Scout Group, have a safe and happy christmas and see you all next year!

25.01.2022 Hey Scouts, Cubs and Joey’s (and leaders of course). With the weather we are having at the moment maybe we can enter for Australia!!

24.01.2022 What should a Joey do on a windy Thursday afternoon? Fly a kite of course!

23.01.2022 Dingo definitely thinks the cubs should cancel their Bush walk...... we’ll be at the Scout Hall this week!!

20.01.2022 What an absolutely awesome evening of Halloween fun the cubs had this evening. It was gross and noisy and messy and raucous all at the same time. It’s my was great!!

19.01.2022 Great to hear that the Duchess of Cambridge has become the first female President of Scouts in the UK. We have quite a few awesome girls in our group who could teach her highness the ropes about being a GREAT scout.

19.01.2022 At 1st Belmont we have a wealth of inspirational and fantastic young women both leaders and youth who we are very proud of!!

18.01.2022 Ok Joey’s, Cubs and Scouts a School Holiday challenge has been set by Scouts NSW. Our challenge as a unit is: It's 1,500 kilometres from Cape Byron, the easternmost point of NSW, to Silverton, on the NSW/South Australian border on the west. Assemble a Project Patrol and work as a team to walk, bike, hike and/or skip 1,500 kilometres over the summer holidays, symbolising the east coast to the western border of NSW! So we have a patrol started and some distances already chalked up so let’s use this Facebook post to track our achievements and each week dingo will add up the distances and update our tracker. Comment with the what you’ve done and how far.

16.01.2022 Hey Joeys! Look where I have been Our friends at Nikinpa Preschool invited me for a visit. They showed me their awesome playground with their own campfire area and chicken coop! They also gave me this box of surprises for all our Joeys. ... What a wonderful group of friendly, welcoming, adventurous kids , and special thanks to Aunty Chloe (in the picture) for inviting me along. HOP HOP HOP!

13.01.2022 This week our cubs had a wood working night. And to test their creative minds that bit more they weren’t given detailed instructions but instead shown the end result and challenged to set it all up and work it out themselves. And they did a brilliant job! Peg games and string and nail art.

13.01.2022 Today the cubs spent time with the team at Lake Macquarie Field Archers at the Wakefield range. Everyone had a fantastic time! We’ll definitely be back!

11.01.2022 This evening 1st Belmont Cubs rode the second section of the Fernleigh Track, from Whitebridge to Adamstown and back. A very fun and noisy night. A few grazed knees and elbows (but enough about one of the leaders falling off)

10.01.2022 Thinking about a camping trip? Look no further than the beautiful Camp Kariong on the Central Coast. Fabulous location, a discount for Scout families and you will be supporting the Scout Association. What are you waiting for??

10.01.2022 Well I’m afraid tonight’s program for the cubs was knot much fun. Our newer cubs learnt their first knots and the older cubs set about teaching them their reef knot, clove hitch and their bowline. Then Dingo challenged them to ‘rescue’ a cub in a life raft using only short lengths of rope and expert knotting skills

10.01.2022 Notice from Scout NSW. We can now meet in larger groups. This will allow all of our Cubs to take part in the same activity at the same time.

10.01.2022 Joeys is off to a sizzling start! Campfire, damper, planting herb seedlings and gifts from our friends at Nikinpa pre-school. Great to be back for Term 4! Next week - Dressing up!

07.01.2022 We want to do robots!......so robots we did! Youth Led Program in action

07.01.2022 Doing what Joeys do best......making a MESS!!

06.01.2022 Congratulations to Flynn, our newest Joey! The rain could not keep away the smiles as Flynn proudly said his promise in front of the joeys, Mum and his big brother. HOP HOP HOP

05.01.2022 To all our youth and their parents (aka taxi drivers) just a reminder that Scouts will restart on 4 February for all sections with the usual start times: Joey’s 5:15 to 6:15 Cubs and Scouts 6:30 to 8 And exciting times ahead as we are now allowed large groups for activities in our Covid management plan so we can look forward to more out of hall activities and fun.... Look forward to seeing you all down there.

05.01.2022 Tonight our scouts tested the sea worthiness of the raft they built last week. While it did stay afloat for a moment or two, they seemed determined for it to be more of a submarine than a raft.

04.01.2022 Joey Sports & Colour run....sorry parents!!

04.01.2022 Today our cub pack grew yet again as we invested another great new cub!

03.01.2022 Even a rainy day can’t keep these Joeys away! Everyone had fun playing games from around the world to celebrate Harmony Day

02.01.2022 Dressing up with the Joeys for a mini book week. Where has that Emu gone??
