24.01.2022 ‘A labour of love’ indeed ! Congratulations to them all!

23.01.2022 I object to all this political spin and rewriting of history, and writing people out of it for self congratulating myth making. I thought people were getting wiser to propaganda from the plethora of misinformation through these Covid times. None of these people in the images congratulating themselves all over the media, were at any meeting to get the plans on the table, and quietly kept on the table! All credit and only credit should go to one primary person - Stephen Kelly !... Nothing has been achieved or progressed from his original drawings submitted and worked through with the ARTC. Further, it’s simply not factual that the ARTC haven’t always kept his ideas and hard worked proposals on the negotiating table. It’s also not the truth that the Benalla community didn’t have the toughest and hardest negotiators of any local Council always fiercely advocating for the best outcome at high level confidential meetings with all Rail executives, for Stephen’s original plans . All these other people as a later bandwagon haven’t progressed one single part of the original challenges. Facts matter. The truth matters. History matters. As I stated on Helen’s page, everyone needs to sit back down and get back to the work at hand ! If you ever get to see this Stephen, all credits and Bravo to YOU getting the overpass off the table Take pleasure in a quiet bow

20.01.2022 The Euroa Gazette today reports North East rail communities’ expectations for next week’s visit by Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack. I’ve invited Mr McCo...rmack, who’s also Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Minister, to hear concerns shared by Wangaratta, Glenrowan, Benalla and Euroa about the impact of Inland Rail project works in these towns. I’ve raised these concerns with the Minister and the Australian Rail Track Corporation that’s managing the project. I want to make sure the these communities can be confident the proposed works will deliver great outcomes. #InlandRail #Benalla #Euroa #Glenrowan #Wangaratta Better Benalla Rail.com

15.01.2022 Another brilliant, pointed and spare piece of writing from John Barry

15.01.2022 All they’ve done is spent a lot of time and resources going full circle. A second platform has to be built to allow for safe and efficient movement of passenger trains with an expected near 20 double stacked freight trains passing through daily too. This was part of the original drawn plans of BOBCAR which I still have. The stumbling block for argument was and still is the location and type of safe pedestrian access under and/or over to the second platform Yet another commun...ity issue inflated with too much misinformation and too little design and engagement from within the community . Where’s the landscape design and contributions from within the community for the project ? See more

14.01.2022 The visit to Indi by Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack on March 19 presents a golden opportunity to address the serious failings of the Inland Rail project. After months of lobbying and questions from me in Parliament, the Minister is coming so that - with our communities - I can raise deep concerns with him about the progress of the project in Wangaratta, Glenrowan, Benalla, and Euroa. He has the power to address the failings of the Australian Rail Track Corporation Lt...d. - ARTC in consulting with our communities, and our legitimate concerns around connectivity, heritage, small business activity and accessibility, if he chooses to do so. The Minister and I are on a unity ticket. We both believe that Inland Rail should be a positive contribution to our region. As the local representative, I see it as my obligation to outline to him what our communities consider must be done in order to achieve that shared vision. https://www.facebook.com/helenhainesindi/ Read my statement at http://ow.ly/v1w350DZSaj

12.01.2022 Rather magnificent train station details in Malmo ! Particularly love the cutout concrete(?) wall paneling. Wonder if this is from the mid 20th century ?
