The brainchild of Richard Morris of Australian Superyachts, Peter Lovett of Geoff Lovett International, and Justin James of Sydney Superyacht Marina, the Sydney Superyacht Show will run from 1 to 3 August.... The Show will be hosted at the Sydney Superyacht Marina, a venue that was purpose-built for superyachts during the 2000 Olympics. With new facilities currently under development, the Sydney Superyacht Marina is set to become a centre of excellence for the superyacht industry. Primarily a brokerage show, the Sydney Superyacht Show will feature pre-owned superyachts and luxury vessels currently for sale in Sydney. There will be around 10 separate brokerage companies booking in vessels for the show, ranging in size from 52 to 135-feet. Participating brokerage companies include Australian Superyachts, Geoff Lovett International, Sunseeker Select Brokerage, Fraser Yachts and Ray White Marine. Unlike the more popular Sydney International Boat Show being held in Darling Harbour on the same weekend, the Superyacht Show aims to attract extremely well-heeled prospective buyers. We’re looking at several hundred people, but they have to be the ‘right’ several hundred people, says Captain Richard Morris, owner of Australian Superyachts and one of the show’s organisers. We’ll be dealing with high net-worth individuals; CEOs, etcetera. All of the vessels on offer are second-hand - or, as they like to say in the trade, ‘pre-owned’. The total value of the fleet will be around the $50 million mark. Even the least expensive boat will set you back around $500,000. One of the most decadent vessels is Patriot; a 32.13 metre floating palace with features including a chandelier, Versace plateware, hand-laid timbers (babinga, burl walnut, and chestnut burl), Bose surround sound, and a honey-onyx lined bathroom with gold basins and cut crystal accessories from Paris. The asking price is $3.95 million. Other standouts include a Warren 75, Sunseeker 82, and a Princess 85. There will also be a couple of helicopters available to purchase and the show will exhibit a host of luxury brands such as Mercedes Benz and L’Oreal. With three impressive levels and sweeping 360 degree views, this truly unique state-of-the-art motor vessel will serve as hub for visitors and exhibitors alike. While at the show, visitors will enjoy the contemporary cuisine created by the award-winning Epicure team, whether that’s for a long, leisurely lunch or a bite.... Captain Richard Morris, co-organiser of the show and managing director of Australian Superyachts said securing MV Epicure is a coup and a major asset for the show.
