03.01.2022 WARNING: This is an extremely common way that scammers are stealing from people. It is called PHISHING; You will receive an email making you feel concerned about your PayPal account (or similar). A big button will try to convince you to click it to get it sorted. You will then be taken to a page that LOOKS LIKE a legitimate website. Entering your details here will send them to the scammer or be stored in a database for the scammer to use. They will now have your login inform...ation and be able to extract funds or make purchases from your account, even make bank withdrawals depending on your settings. The easiest way to spot these is to check the sender's email. Sometimes they will be smart and assign their display name as [email protected] or similar, you will need to know where to look to see the actual source email. The next obvious tell is the actual URL address at the top of the browser if you are to click on one of these links - it will be random and illegitimate. If you ever have concerns about your account go to the website directly rather than clicking a link at all from within an email as they can.
