09.01.2022 In celebration of #NationalSkillsWeek, we’d like to introduce two of our Bricklaying apprentices, James and Joel. James had worked in retails for over 12 years when he was looking for a change. When a friend of his who was working as a bricklayer mentioned that he was looking to take on an apprentice, James jumped at the opportunity. Since then, James hasn’t looked back! He is leaning something new each day, and is enjoying working outside and at a different location most wee...ks. Joel completed a Certificate II in Building and Construction Pre-apprenticeship (22338VIC) with us whilst working full time at KR Castlemaine. Joel juggled classes from 8am-3pm and work from 4pm-12pm while studying with Bendigo TAFE. Joel found an opportunity to undertake a trial with a local Bricklayer that suited his current working conditions. Fast forward 6 months, and Joel is now undertaking his apprenticeship with the same employer. Joel is now loving working on the building site, and enjoys being able to see an achievement at the end of the day. Congratulations to both James and Joel on securing your new careers! We wish you all the best for the future. #nationalskillsweek #proudlytafe #bricklaying #tradies #bendigotafe
