08.01.2022 The Health Innovation Investment and Research Office (HIIRO) just announced that Queensland Health has been awarded a $75.2 million competitive grant under the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Enabling Infrastructure for Rural, Regional and Remote Clinical Trials program. Working with Professor Sabesan and Townsville, they led this national application for the implementation and evaluation of the Australasian Teletrial Model (ATM). The funding will be transformational for ...the clinical trials sector. The program will accelerate clinical trial activity across rural, remote and regional (RRR) Australia, enabling RRR residents to access trials with reduced travel. This program will drive commercial investment from pharmaceutical and medical technology corporate sponsors, not just in RRR areas but across Australia. The co-design process of the program has strengthened relationships with industry, clinicians, consumers, academia, peak bodies and governments. #NQRTH #NorthernQueensland
