25.01.2022 Happy World Teachers Day! A huge thank you to all our amazing teachers at Ballan Kinder! Do you have a teacher that left a lasting impression or made a differe...nce in your life? We would love to hear your special memories! Or maybe send them a special thank you today. Many thanks, The Committee

23.01.2022 Parts of the Moorabool Shire can’t get mobile phone reception but apparently they’re getting it on the Moon?!? That’s a bit tongue in cheek but a resident did contact me over the weekend to say that the lack of mobile phone reception and internet access had made learning at home incredibly difficult for their child, meant working from home was almost impossible & they had no access to streaming services or online career development. The reality is that if we want Moorabool sh...ire to be a place people can live and work remotely then we need to be advocating for the digital infrastructure that makes it possible. Regardless of what they build on the Moon. https://www.theguardian.com//talking-on-the-moon-nasa-and-

22.01.2022 A big thank you to our friends from the LGBTIQA+ community who have given me this straight ally of LGBTIQA+ pin. I am proud to stand with you.

19.01.2022 Today’s public holiday, like every public holiday, is proudly bought to you by the Australian union movement. If you’re working today you deserve your penalty rates. And being in your union is the best way to make sure you get them.... Proud to stand with my friend Brett Edgington, Secretary of the Ballarat Regional Trades & Labour Council (BRTLC) which covers the Central Ward, for the rights of all working people.

19.01.2022 There’s only a couple of hours left to vote. If you haven’t already done your vote you need to get it to Graham St Bacchus Marsh BEFORE 6pm. Remember the VEC can fine you for not voting.... If you’re not sure how to order the candidates, this is how I chose to vote.

19.01.2022 Buying local creates local jobs. And that’s a good thing. If I’m elected I’ll be pushing for a larger local premium on awarding council contracts, cooperation with our larger local companies to support smaller local business and a proper local jobs plan that brings more suppliers and new opportunities to the shire.

17.01.2022 Well that’s the campaign for 2020. Thank you to everyone for your encouragement & support. Thank you to the other candidates, in a democracy it’s vital that people are given a choice for who represents us at every level of government, while some parts of this campaign have been extremely difficult we have had lots of discussions about roads, jobs, footpaths, support for local business, support for the diversity of our community, sustainable development, the delivery of waste ...management, the building of a new library, community engagement and local media diversity. We may not have agreed on everything but whoever wins will have a big job to do and I’m sure all the candidates will be prepared to do whatever we can to support our community. A huge thank you to my family, my friends, the people who helped out and every person who took the time to speak with me, particularly those who offered encouragement and support. I couldn’t have run without you. We won’t know who has won for some weeks, though we will get a first preference count next Tuesday, so I will be taking it easy over the weekend. Here are some of the photos from the campaign. Have a great weekend.

13.01.2022 Great to see regional Victoria has zero known cases of COVID. Still need to wear masks, wash our hands and follow the other protective measures but definitely on the right track.

13.01.2022 If you haven’t got your ballot papers or are worried you might miss the mail you can see the VEC in Bacchus Marsh until 8pm tonight. Make sure your vote counts. It’s time we had a change on council.

10.01.2022 Thank you for your support so far, don’t forget to vote!

10.01.2022 Good news today with COVID restrictions being eased from tonight.

08.01.2022 Only 54% of people in the Central Ward have voted. The VEC issues fines to those who don’t vote. This is your chance to have a say on the future of our area, and avoid a fine!... So, get your ballot paper in the mail or drop it into the election office in Bacchus Marsh.

07.01.2022 Your vote needs to be in by 6pm Friday! Thank you for all your support so far, make sure you get your vote in ASAP so we get the change we need to improve our roads, deliver more jobs, fix our rubbish problems and make sure our Shire stays beautiful.

04.01.2022 The primary votes have been counted for the Central Ward. I want to thank everyone who voted, under what was not ideal conditions for an election. While the current councillor does have the most primary votes, over 57% of people cast their primary vote for a new candidate. At this point it seems likely that, after the distribution of preferences, the final result may be decided by a handful of votes.... For me to win from here I will need 600 of the 821 votes that will be distributed based on preferences. Paul Tatchell needs 222 to retain his position on council. We are anticipating that there will be a preference distribution, and a provisional result, on Wednesday afternoon. I want to again thank everyone who voted, who asked questions and who participated in the election.
