24.01.2022 I know I usually keep things pretty positive on here but there's something that's been bubbling away at me and really eating my soul. Not because this affects m...e personally, but I hear people making these comments all the time, or asking for recommendations across social media. I see it spread across all industries and it makes me so sad because these businesses are my colleagues, my friends, I see how hard they work and disrespectful comments like this just really grind my gears. Everybody loves to say they love supporting local or they may even be a small business themselves but then I hear comments like this roll out their mouths... "I need xyz that doesn't cost an arm or a leg." "looking for a reasonably priced xzy." "I want xyz that doesn't cost the earth." "I’m looking for bla bla who doesn't charge ridiculous prices." You know the posts I'm talking about. Guys, this is so disrespectful! When you ask for recommendations like this, I don't want to recommend anyone to you because these are people I care about, who are incredibly talented and hardworking individuals. You've haven't valued what they do at all, and I actually have no idea what your price point is? I know we've all probably done this, or its slipped out our mouths but honestly its hurtful and just darn rude. I hate being tagged in these posts because I'm potentially being put in front of people who don't value me and my industry. Or at the very least, it's the way it feels. We all have different values, costs of living and budgets we're comfortable with or able to throw at things. This is not an excuse to crap all over an industry or small business. This is 100% not a post about putting people down who don't want to drop large amounts of cash. It's a post to educate and open up conversations. If you know anyone who works for themself or runs their own business, you would know how bloody hard they work. And none of us are charging ridiculous prices. We're charging what we need to, to sustain our business so we can continue to bring the awesome quality and service you love. I won't go into the break down of charging or costs of business because frankly it's boring and it has no relevance to this post. Also, it's not helpful to you if you're asking for say "reasonable pricing." What is reasonable to you is going to be different to somebody else. Try instead, "I'm working with a budget" or "not wanting to spend over $$$" That way you're actually going to get recommendations that are relevant to you and you don't sound like a jerk. I'm posting this because I bloody care and the way we speak about and to people does matter. I honestly love giving recommendations in my personal & professional life, so please let me help Let's keep the conversation happening. Drop your thoughts below.

24.01.2022 What a great bunch from Bermagui Fitness Factory! So nice to see people getting healthier & fitter. The bags of flour represent the weight they had lost along the way. Tough crew, it got quite cool & wet, no complaints.

24.01.2022 Not really a photo I ever wanted to take...our little house on the hill. Incredibly grateful it's still there & if it can be a symbol of hope & inspire people to prepare & fight to protect their homes (see article below) well then it's one of the best photos I've ever taken.

21.01.2022 A deeply personal post. As you may be aware our yoga studio in Cobargo NSW burnt down on NYE. My wife Amrei, is incredibly resilient & after looking at 9 different options to re-build in Cobargo we came to the realisation it was best to re-build at home. This gave us the most manageable debt & best lifestyle (from 12 classes/7 days a week to 6 classes/6 days a week) The building process was very smooth, 4.5 months from earthworks to open (few things for me to finish off...).... The smoothness was due to the AMAZING people involved & we CAN NOT thank you enough!!! 18.01.2022 VERY, very happy 12th anniversary Buster & Tarryn! Next bit is about me - I've been a bit slack with sharing anniversary pics...I was wondering if they where a bit silly, then I get a message from Buster they look forward them. Whoa...of course personal photos mean the world to me, but I tend to look at only the technical aspects of photos I've taken, especially from a few years ago, coulda/shoulda/woulda...it means the world to me that I'm in contact with couples from nearly 20 years ago, so I will try and get over the self critical bullshit & keep sharing those pics!
