25.01.2022 This little cutie was so fun to draw- I’m always so amazed at how many colours are used to make up what looks like a minimal palette (this one has so many purples and blues). The original is up for grabs and I’ll have prints coming in to the new year. What a lovely bunch of animals we have in this country

24.01.2022 Hello all, Tomorrow night Joan & The Giants will be performing at the Rosemount Hotel, where I have the pleasure of showcasing some of my works alongside them with a couple other talented artists. If you feel like catching some beautiful locally grown talent head down and check it out

23.01.2022 Billie Rose all finished and gifted to her Mum. The curls on this little lady are next level! Definitely challenged my abilities and concentration, but one can never draw enough doggos What do you think would be a challenging breed to draw?

20.01.2022 Doing my part to remember those who gave their lives for the beautiful land I call home. Music: 5 Cents Back Musician: music by audionautix.com License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode

19.01.2022 Happy Tuesday all! I have an exciting new product available, and to test the waters I only ordered a small amount- one of which has already been snatched up So if you’re interested feel free to message me. I am currently booked up until January 2021 for commissions so this may be a lovely substitute as a gift for Christmas this year. Have a wonderful week!

17.01.2022 Hi all, my latest blog post is up and running! In this one I get a little vulnerable in opening up about the earlier days of running my business- specifically the conflict between creating art from a personal place, versus the desire for attention from others. Give it a squizz and let me know your thoughts! artbymadeline.com

17.01.2022 "The Underground" Acrylic on hard hat. This piece was definitely one of my favourites- it was so different to anything I've done yet and has a lot of sentimental meaning to the person it's being gifted to. Around 45 hours went into this piece and was worth every minute. Let me know your thoughts!

17.01.2022 A total of 20 hours went into this piece, and is in fact my very first car commission! Each and every commission teaches me something new and this one particularly taught me to relax on trying to mirror exactly from the reference photo as I would find myself spending 20 minutes on one part of rock trying to make it look identical to the reference photo, when realistically the only subject in this portrait that should mirror its reference is the car. I learned to trust my own ability to draw certain parts on my own and just use the reference photo as more of a guide, which is very hard as a realism artist. What are your thoughts?

16.01.2022 Hello friends I am thrilled to share that ARC Armadale have invited me to show some of my works in the Tea House/Gallery, alongside a collection of works from other super creative and talented Artists. If you’d like to support us please head down and check the place out- there really is something for everyone

13.01.2022 Something totally different: You may remember seeing a recent video experiment I did called "unconscious doodling" (if you haven't, check it out), and it was so fascinating that I decided to do a painting version. Basically it involves drawing random shapes and lines that come to mind without thinking too much, and this was the result. I tried to stick to a theme- what do you think it is? I'd love to know your thoughts!

11.01.2022 Finished product of these beautiful two Boxers. Admittedly I had no idea that white Boxers are a thing but nonetheless- white fur is always a breath of fresh air to draw. I used two separate reference photos to create this piece- let me know your thoughts!

10.01.2022 A little panoramic vid to show the whole helmet as well as the few sparkly bits of glitter and gold

07.01.2022 We Will Remember Them.

07.01.2022 A rare coloured portrait of the lovely Tess, using a combination of Fabercastel Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils

07.01.2022 Afternoon all. Due to a large amount of commissions banked up I will be closing my books until further notice. Thank you all for your constant support and understanding. Plenty of new works to be displayed soon! Happy Friday

07.01.2022 Dear Winston is finished My favourite part about this piece was his floppy cheeks What's your favourite doggo feature?

06.01.2022 I am absolutely thrilled to announced that my first major oil painting, titled Perspective has been accepted into the 2021 Minnawarra Art Awards. If you’re in the area between 1-16 May, please feel free to pop down to see the works of some of the region’s most talented Artists

06.01.2022 Horses are the only thing I can draw confidently using my imagination and memory; as a child, growing up with them, I drew them all day, every day, and I learned each curve of muscle, edge of bone, and fell in love with the delicate intricacies that form the horse's figure. It is one of many angles and bumps and curves- my favourite part of a horse's anatomy are the legs- so much complexity that forms an elegant, strong formation. Majestic creatures, they are. Sometimes I'll do a quick 10 minute sketch of one, using what I remember from my numerous studies of them as a kid, and it always blows my mind that I still remember each part after all these years. It makes me want to do that with every animal and object- if only there was more free time .

05.01.2022 Have you ever considered what you’d do if suddenly social media were to crash, disappear? How would you stay in contact with your mates and loved ones? What would happen to all your saved content, your favourite pages, your inspiration? God forbid that ever happens, but amidst some research I was doing the other day for my business I came across this very idea and considering majority of my work comes from social media I thought what can I do to ensure those who appreciate ...and enjoy my art will always have access to my services? So I decided to create a mailing list; this way anyone who chooses to will not only have access to all of my content and a way to access both myself and the services I provide- whether it be prints, tattoo designs, logo designs, portraits, commissions or originals- but also extra juicy bits like discounts on prints (10% to be exact), early glimpses into current works I have on the go, first notice of new blog posts and anything else I can provide to thank those who choose to be a part of my journey. So, that being said, if you’re interested please don’t hesitate to let me know- either in the comments or personal message- and I’ll get to organising the whole shebang. *And don’t stress- I’m not going to be one of those spammers who sends 4 emails a day, I would even hate me for that* Thanks for all the support as always See more

05.01.2022 "US" A3, Graphite on card. This piece accumulated 68 hours, my longest time for a drawing yet. I am yet to get a high-quality photograph done, so stay tuned for that, but I couldn't wait to share it with you guys. Take some time to really delve into this piece and derive your own meaning. Gosh I love the power of art

04.01.2022 So I thought I’d share with you the piece I’m currently working on amidst commissions. It’s called YinYang for hopefully obvious reasons, and so far has taken me 91 hours of drawing time, not including the many hours I spend staring at it wondering where to next? Please let me know your thoughts, your ideas, what you think the piece means to you, as I love knowing what it means to you just as much as I love creating it

03.01.2022 Friends, meet Bonsai- my second ever coloured pet portrait! He took around 10 hours, so I learned rather quickly from drawing Franklin, who took arounf 16 hours How kind are those eyes!?

02.01.2022 Finally finished this personal piece I've been working on! Would you like a free A4 print of him? All you have to do is like, share on your page and comment what you think would be the best name for this piece. I'll pick the winner on Monday 20th July, so get naming!

02.01.2022 While today is traditionally a day to celebrate the joys and blessings of this incredibly abundant land we all call home, it is above all, a day to remember; remember the history of this country, the lives and generations lost and changed, pay respect to those who walked here long before the settlers arrived and revel in the opportunity to come together- for we both share a deep and profound love and appreciation for this country. To celebrate I will be selling prints of thi...s piece half price for the remainder of January 2020. 02.01.2022 This piece of an older Scotland- specifically Glasgow- was so much fun to draw; so many different textures and the unique paper surface really adds to the feel of the portrait. Drawing the children really brought back a lot of nostalgia for me, growing up in the 90’s. Who can relate?

02.01.2022 A very special piece for a very special friend. Enjoy
