25.01.2022 Hey it’s me, just want to say thank you for an amazing 2018. Really appreciate the support, the weddings and families I had the massive honour of photographing. This year was the busiest by far and I have the legendary @randylarcombe and @suziting for keeping me busy on countless interstate trips. To @atkins.pro.lab thank you for making me look good, for the long lunches and friendship. To Jenna & Andrew for bringing me over to Paris which turned into a 3 week family holiday ...that I’ll never forget. To the year ahead....I hope to show my face more and share more images. 24.01.2022 I get asked often... why the hell do you shoot analog film when we live in a digital world My answer is why the hell not - you get the best of both worlds. Incredible colour, grain that is so sexy with a look that can’t easily be replicated by digital. Negatives are scanned into digital files ready to be printed from or shared online. Shooting film allows me to be more present on the day not stepping in and out of a couples wedding story via a lcd screen checking exposure ...or trying to perfect an image too much. I need to trust my ability as a photographer with only using my eyeball through the viewfinder. The look of film isn’t for every couple looking for a wedding photographer and that’s cool because I don’t cater for everyone. Im so very thankful for the couples who book me because of me and my approach. Some moments in life will stay with you I’m sure the one or two hours leading up to the ceremony will stay with Harrison forever. I’ve never witnessed greater strength before but I suppose when you’re a professional athlete and Olympian I’m guessing you know how to dig deep and find the inner power to pull yourself out of hospital after a bug attacks you so bad you probably should be lying down all d...ay being looked after by medics. 09.01.2022 PERSONAL POST....Family are so important. I’m currently into day 7 of a 90 day health kick to strengthen my mind and my body. Today I achieved a 5km run, 15 minutes of skipping & 70 push ups. This social platform is everyone’s highlights, a place to pretend to the world we are healthy, happy and fit 100% of the time. Well all that is just bullshit because life isn’t perfect and we as humans are far from perfect which is 100% ok!!! 05.01.2022 Learning the news this morning that the legendary Jake Burton Carpenter had passed away made me sad, for his family and his friends. Also for our planet and the sport of snowboarding which he helped create. It got me thinking of all the adventures the sport has taken me on. My first snow season was in ‘97’ at Mt Buller, I travelled there with my Burton snowboard where I learnt how to ride. Then again in 2000 my second snow season in Perisher. It was here I had the chance to... do a X games training camp, riding T-bars with Torah Bright then standing behind her as she throws down a back flip off a 50 foot jump. I landed my jumps, she went on to win Gold at the Olympics, I went on to break 3 ribs in the halfpipe and get delayed concussion after attempting to throw myself upside down and landing on my head. The following year 2001 I was retuning for my 3rd snow season, it’s where I met Billy. We have been together ever since and the life we have is incredible. Thinking about love and life the thing is Jake old mate I’m guessing you had a lot to do with bringing crew together both for love and mate ship. Without your push to create snowboarding to what it is today maybe just maybe Billy and I wouldn’t have met, we wouldn’t have this beautiful life we share with our kids Alannah and Zane. Late 2005 I proposed to Billy in the North Island of Japan on a snowboarding trip. We were on the Princess’ Gondola, the weather was overcast, foggy and not great. Once she eventually said yes to me after a few bull%$#@ the clouds parted way, we could see the valley below us for the first time. The view lasted only a brief moment but it was truly magical.
