25.01.2022 #Repost @relentlesscoachjake with @make_repost Don’t throw it all out the window. . When times get tough, when you’re stressed out, had a bad day, didn’t get any sleep - you will fall back on your training disciplines.... . I had a few days off work, although it’s not my normal 2-3am wake up. I was still up at 5am, out the door and getting after it. . Yes, I’ve enjoyed some good food, beer and much needed down time - but I make damn sure I’ve earned it. . Even if you can keep ONE thing daily working toward your goal, your vision - take it as a win. Being getting up early and going for a workout or run, hitting your protein target for the day, reading for 30mins, just don’t throw it all out the window. You’ll regret it. . Merry Christmas, stay safe and stay strong. See more

22.01.2022 Release, mobilise, activate, movement/flow, CNS/explosive . Pre-movement preparation (warm up) is a MUST for increasing performance potential and injury prevention.

19.01.2022 Getting to work with Sheree almost everyday is an absolute pleasure. Her work ethic and consistent drive in the gym, business and life is unmatched and inspiring. Check out this progress pic so far, we’re getting very close to the end result. Sheree has also being working with my man @tonedwithtj through that time we have maintained a great deal of strength, lean muscle and increased conditioning while training through a deficit. I’m excited for these next few weeks . Pos...ted @withrepost @tonedwithtj Some pretty whacky progress here from my online client. Things are shaping up rather well. This is about 16 kilos difference and I'm excited to see the end result before we slip into a maintenance setup

16.01.2022 A great day today learning first aid at Global Fitness Institute

16.01.2022 One of the most neglected pieces of a program I see to this day is the warm ups or what I like to refer to as pre-movement preparation/ preparation phase. That is exactly what we are doing, we are preparing the body for workout/training or game - we are preparing the body for movement. . 10+years of coaching as well as training/performing as an athlete, I have stepped foot in a number of different types of facilities - big chain commercial gyms, CrossFit gyms, hardcore war...ehouse/garage gyms, elevate private training facilities and everything in-between. . Majority of the time, people are neglecting their warm up. I can’t tell you the number of times I would walk in (and yes, trainers too), throw a bunch of weight on the bar, swing their arms back and forth a couple of times and then start lifting. Thing about how many times you’ve just jumped on a piece of cardio equipment for 2mins then gone straight into the workout . On the the other end of things, some people take way too much time (taking 40mins on a foam roller/stretching) which in turn can have a negative effect on the workout (body entering a parasympathetic /relaxed state) . Why are Warm ups are usually neglected? . People think they don’t need to do it . Not enough time (jumping straight into the workout) . Being unsure what or how to efficiently prepare for training . Simply finding the warm up boring or a waste of time. . To perform at your highest level, decrease the likelihood of injuries and relieve tightness in your body - the warm up or pre-movement preparation is a key piece to your program See more

14.01.2022 The Glute-Ham raise is one of the best builders of the lower body (posterior chain). . Developing eccentric hamstring strength is critical for injury prevention. . There is a lot that needs to be covered when developing Pro-Wrestlers. Pro #-wrestlers need to be explosive, demonstrate adequate mobility and dynamic motor control, speed, agility (reaction time), aesthetics and conditioned with a hell of a gas tank. ... . My two goals I have which ties in with it all are 1. Injury prevention 2. Develop physical qualities for optimal performance See more

10.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas. Stay safe, surround yourself with loved ones, minimise the time on social media and enjoy the moment. . This year has been rough, challenging and a huge test of will. But it has also been one of the best for self development, personal growth and understanding what’s important and your true WHY. . I thank everyone for the support and appreciate it more than words could express. This right here is the the WHY behind everything I do ... . Now stop scrolling and be present, live in the moment and enjoy these times See more

07.01.2022 Yes, we would love to be inside the gym right now. But, getting outside is what a lot of us need to do more often. Especially with health, immunity and your well-bring currently needing to be at an all time high with the pandemic. VITAMIN D!!!... - 80% of covid hospitalisations patients had deficient levels of vitamin D - Patients who have adequate levels of vitamin D have a 51.5% lower risk of dying and significantly lower risk of developing complications - Covid patients who were deficient in vitamin D had a number of elevated inflammatory markers which can lead to poor covid outcomes Vitamin D can AID in lower risk and severity of Covid.
