24.01.2022 **LEPTOSPIROSIS OUTBREAK** Leptospirosis is a serious bacterial disease affecting domestic and wild animals. Recently there have been a number of reported and confirmed cases of leptospirosis in Sydney and sadly six dogs died. This poses a risk to not only unvaccinated dogs but also to their owners. All Australian dogs urban or rural dwelling, can be considered at risk. Dogs can become infected by direct exposure from urine, bite wounds or ingestion of infected tissue. In...direct exposure may be from contaminated water, food, soil or bedding. Vaccination is recommended and is very effective at protecting dogs against this disease. High risk pets include those travelling to central in inner west Sydney. It is recommended they are vaccinated immediately. All other pets should be vaccinated on your next Vet visit or next annual health check and vaccination. For more information, contact one of our clinics.

22.01.2022 ***Open at Berry instead of Shoalhaven Heads on Sunday the 5th of January*** Due to a large number of animals in hospital at Berry (fire evacuees and others), and being required at the Berry Showground to attend to the large number of evacuated animals our vet needs to stay at the Berry Clinic on Sunday morning the 5th of January. We will be open there from 9am-12pm instead of at Shoalhaven Heads. Our thoughts are with every one affected or at risk by the Currowan fire. We wish you all the best of luck, and hope that you are able to stay safe over the coming days.

21.01.2022 COVID Update #2: Still open as usual but please.... Help Us Help You! In order to maximise our chance to continue to offer our service to local pets and livestock we ask that you read the following: Firstly, and most importantly, we ask that if you are currently in isolation or you (or your pet) are in contact with someone who has EITHER tested positive or is in isolation that you call our staff FIRST so that we can work out a plan to safely provide your pet with the treatm...ent it needs. Starting MONDAY (30th March) we will be splitting our staff into 2 ‘teams’ - the first operating out of Berry as normal and the second operating only out of Shoalhaven Heads and Kangaroo Valley with no overlap or ‘mingling’ until this situation is under control. This will provide an insurance policy to ensure that if any staff members are infected we will still have a team to continue to provide your pets our service while the remainder are in isolation. On occasion - this may mean visiting another clinic for your preferred appointment time if it has already been taken or to see your preferred vet, we appreciate your understanding in these cases. Finally, we ask that you continue to respect our new policies in line with the governments social distancing regulations (as per our door signage). - When you are visiting the clinic please ensure you do not enter until advised to by staff. We have set up an outside undercover ‘waiting area’ for your comfort . - We ask that only 1 person attends an appointment per pet (except in special circumstances) and people avoid cash payments, opting for tap or EFT where possible. - Finally, please call ahead for any medication or food pick ups - we will ensure to have them put aside for you to minimise clinic congestion and waiting times. members of our team showing off the new signage + their effective means of minimising the spread

15.01.2022 Grooming has returned to Berry Vet Clinic! We are pleased to announce that we have been able to reestablish our grooming service while remaining in line with current COVID recommendations We will now be offering grooming BY APPOINTMENT on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s upstairs at Berry... The service will differ from our previous service in 2 ways - Grooming (and bath only) animals will be booked in for an allotted period of time - you will need to drop them off just prior to their appointment and pick them up just following - They will be taken straight UPSTAIRS - ie not enter the main hospital nor be dealt with by any hospital staff If your dog also requires a health check, vaccination or other veterinary care please advise our staff when booking - this will be handled separately with your appointment being either just prior or just following grooming. Unfortunately at this time we are unable to offer the grooming at Shoalhaven Heads - we will keep you up to date when this situation changes Any questions please do not hesitate to contact our team!
