25.01.2022 Is this a deal for you! :) Weve stumbled across a one-day training opportunity for churches, with international discipleship teacher John Roberto. The Anglican... church is making John available at Bald Hills (right on the northern edge of Brisbane) Saturday 4th August. Much of his content while here in Australia will be around engaging cross-generational worship, involving young people in the life of church, families as foundations.... and he understands small church such as us. For $15 it could be a great day for your elders/worship leaders/council members - building and training our teams. Phil Smith is planning to borrow a school bus for the drive down from Unity College, Caloundra if that helps. Heres the detail including a link to Eventbrite to by you tickets. How often do we get to training possibilities such as this for our local leaders?

02.01.2022 In the midst of all this uncertainty and concern surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the High Courts decision on the case involving Cardinal Pell has reverberat...ed across the nation. Without going into the details of that case, the important thing I want our church and the survivors amongst us to know is two things. Firstly, that we as a church are committed to ensuring our places are safe for vulnerable people; we are training and we are changing the way we live our life to ensure that. Secondly as a nation, we have committed ourselves to a path of listening and responding to those who have suffered abuse. The Uniting Church, we as a nation, have heard you. Were sorry for what happened to you. It was a terrible thing, and our society as a whole shares responsibility for it. It shouldnt have happened, and it wasnt your fault. The national redress scheme is our commitment to respond to your suffering. It may have its shortcomings, but it is our way of saying to you that, while we cant change the past, we can express our support of you in tangible ways. We will continue to stand with you. The legal system has its ways of doing things, but we as a nation are bigger that the legal system. Were a people together in all of this. Rev David Baker Moderator Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod

02.01.2022 Music with Movement resumes Wednesday 5th February. See you then!
