25.01.2022 The 4-5 yo class at Brookvale Participating in the "22 day push up challenge"....well the adults were doing the "push ups". I havent started working on their push ups just yet. Bear crawls are more fun.

19.01.2022 As a "sole trader" i have no direct manager or boss, therefore no one to pat me on the back when I do something outstanding, therefore in this case I have to blow my own trumpet. So, congratulations to me on my 10 year anniversary as a fitness professional. 17/10/2007 I got my first certificate in fitness (cert 3). Since then I have added cert 4, aqua, pilates and more recently tai chi while continuing to teach and practice taekwondo and other martial arts. With the help of... many organisations and people (too many to list) I have built up my business to a point where I teach about 35 classes a week. Like any job its hard work but I love my role as a fitness and martial arts Instructor. Most of all I enjoy teaching a variety of modalities and ages which keeps it fresh and interesting. I look forward to the next 10 years of health, fitness and martial arts. See more

17.01.2022 A year ago I got qualified as Tai Chi Instructor. Over the last year I have mainly been teaching the "Tai Chi Warm Up" as part of my Gentle Exercise classes while continuing to practice the Tai Chi for Arthritis & Falls Prevention form in my own time. Over the last 3 weeks I had the opportunity to teach "Tai Chi" at Willoughby. The class was well received by regulars & fortunately one of the participants took some snaps of me. Iam officially starting a class at Brookvale Studio Fridays 1130am-1230pm from this week.
16.01.2022 Photos: The (Holding)"Side Kick Challenge" is complete. Practice has been done, photos have been taken (after couple of attempts), 1st, 2nd and 3rd now announce...d. While it might be relatively easy on your own but co-ordinating as a group is harder. Its with mixed feelings the winner (as voted by a independent party) is my Thursday yoga class at Willoughby. 14.01.2022 Its official Iam qualified Tai Chi Instructor!. It was amazing experience to be taught first hand by Dr Paul Lam & his Master Trainers. While my Tai Chi journe...y has just started I already have a new perspective on the definition of strength (more focus on internal rather than external), mental quietness (what they call jing), good posture & balance for falls prevention. Tai Chi classes will be starting soon. In the meantime, I will be incorporating the Tai Chi warm up into my Gentle Exercise classes. See more

It's about control not strength. 1 Dumbbell "unbalances" the body & therefore the body (core stabilising muscles) have to work harder to perform the movements correctly. Saturdays are back to normal "working" (teachin...g taekwondo is not work its a passion) with classes in the morning and afternoon. Aswell as a Zoom Yoga class to finish off the day. Everyone did their part by playing by the rules of physical distancing, high hygiene standards and non contact. See more

11.01.2022 Here is the "9 week arm balance challenge" that we started this term but didnt finish. My Thursday yoga class at Willoughby completed the challenge. Sit ups/cru...nches have their purpose for strengthening the abs but these exercises /postures work your core bigtime (and require flexibility). Photos by Sarayah Duncan (my 7 yo). See more
07.01.2022 I graded several of my students at the end of last term. One of the highlights was grading my youngest student (Sarayah Duncan) who is only 3 yo. Sarayah (ray ray) got promoted to 1 yellow stripe (in the little kids system).

05.01.2022 Best Balance Health & Fitness (my business) has been operating officially since August 2008. Since 2009 I have been awarding a "Student of the Year" or multiple "Students of the Year" due to the vast nature of my business (different modalities including taekwondo, seniors, pilates and different locations). Last year marked 10 years so I put all the champions on a special memorial shield. Its good to see over half of the people listed are still training with me today
