10.01.2022 For the days when only a will do! These baked raspberry donuts are gluten-free and vegan, with a tested keto and paleo option, too Donut inspo thanks to @thebigmansworld ... You will need: 2 1/2 cups gluten-free self-rising flour 1/2 cup agave nectar can substitute for pure maple syrup 1/4 cup coconut oil 1 cup milk of choice 1/4 cup raspberries Method: Preheat the oven to 180C and coat a 12-count donut pan with cooking oil. Grab a large bowl and sift the flour. Then add the remaining ingredients (except for the raspberries which you will fold into the mixture). Pour the donut batter into a large piping bag and pipe out the donut batter into the donut pan. Lightly wet your hands and shape into the donut cavities. Careful not to overfill! Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until just done. Allow donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, drizzle each donut in the sugar-free glaze. Salmon Fillets Parmesan Cheese Parsley Almond Flour Garlic powder Sea Salt Melted ghee or butter Olive Oil Directions: Preheat oven to 180C. Grab a medium bowl and mix together the flour, Parmesan cheese, seasoning and melted butter. Mix together with a fork until a crumbly paste is formed. Place salmon fillets on top of a baking tray lined with paper and drizzle 2tbsp of olive oil over the top of each fillet. Coat each fillet with crumb mix. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Serve with your fav green salad. 05.01.2022 Are you a Neutral or Flat back kind of gal? The positioning of your back and pelvis plays a pivotal role in your exercises. It all comes back to the 'What': what muscles you want to target or what area you want to emphasise in the exercise. Ask yourself are you wanting to strengthen your stability, or strengthen your abdominal muscles? ... In a Neutral Spine ( hip bones -ASIS + pubic bones are level ) laying supine, you work your back and abdominal muscles to keep your pelvis still to strengthen stability. In a flat back position laying supine, the pelvis moves into a posterior tilt and your lower back presses to the ground. Your external obliques shorten and your lower abdominals will activate A LOT! Now it's your turn! 1. Lay on your back and keep a neutral pelvis. Lift your legs into tabletop and make sure your upper back doesn't arch away from the floor. What do you feel activate? Lower abdominals, upper abdominals, back muscles? Now add a single leg stretch. How does this position feel from a flat back? Do you feel your abdominals working less or more? 2. Lay on your back and flatten your lower spine to the ground. Lift your legs into tabletop and make sure both upper and lower back doesn't arch away from the floor. What do you feel activate here? Lower abdominals? Now add a single leg stretch. Did this position just amp up your abdominal connection? Neither position is better or worse. We love using both positions to target specific muscles and emphasise stability and strength. Working in a flat back position will really amp up the burn and activate your abdominals more effectively, and working in a neutral position will challenge your back and abdominals to stabilise your pelvis. Both are win-wins in our eyes #builtatthelab

04.01.2022 Sometimes you need a little extra help in getting that booty up in the air We love a good roll over! It is a classic Pilates exercise that is designed to build core strength and increase flexibility in the spine. It will also give those hamstring and back muscles a good stretch. Want to know a little hack? Practice this breathing next time you're attempting a rollover in class:... 1) Inhale to lift the legs to the ceiling. 2) Exhale as you lift the bottom away from the mat and your weight shifts into your shoulders. 3) Inhale as you reach your feet up towards the ceiling ( jackknife version). 4) Exhale as you slowly roll your spine back onto the mat. 04.01.2022 Having or planning a baby? Read this Did you know that abdominal Separation happens to 100% of pregnant women once they reach full term ? About 2/3 of women's abdominal separation will heal and come back together naturally and the remaining 1/3 of women's separation won’t. But it's not all doom and gloom, there are things you can do to help. If you are less than 1-year post-baby, more than likely it will still come together. But if you are more than 1-year post-baby and s...till have separation it is likely it won’t come all the way back together. After that 1 year mark, exercise can slightly help but separation isn’t shown to affect you in any way except for cosmetically. During that first-year post-baby, almost any abdominal exercise that is used to strengthen is going to help with your separation. The reformer machine consists of a bed that slides along two rails where you can sit, stand, kneel, lay supine, and prone. There are so many positions and exercises that can be done to target all areas of the body and each class is different so you will never get bored!
