25.01.2022 When we first engage with a new prospect, we do an audit of their current technology. This audit includes the following steps: Gaining an understanding of current processes and future goals... Identifying current technology - phone system, IT hardware, software packages etc Identifying current telecommunications plans (phones, internet and mobiles) Identifying current suppliers - phones and internet, as well as engaging with their IT support Identifying security of current systems and processes If you want to boil it down it’s basically identifying what you have, and prescribing what you need in order to help your business achieve your goals. If you are in need of a telecommunications and business technology prescription, please get in touch for a chat with the team.

25.01.2022 CloudPBX and UC Implementation In the good old days upgrading your telecommunications was easy. For the most part - the technology was simple and the service was on premise based. Things have changed significantly and more expertise is required. If you are in need of a telecommunications upgrade, and you are looking at UC our CloudPBX, here are some things to consider (and areas that we can help.) Where is your CloudPBX/UC System hosted and is there a backup?... What redundancies are in place? Is the service pricing clear? How does your telecommunications integrate with your other IT hardware and software? What is the network design expertise from the team providing you a quote? What mobile devices are you using and how easily do they connect with your overall system? If it’s time for an upgrade, get in touch today so we can discuss your needs.

24.01.2022 Government Stimulus Scams We're hearing reports of scammers calling businesses pretending to be ringing about Government Stimulus Packages. To date, most stimulus has required you to register your interest through the relevant State or Federal Government Website. ... People aren't calling you to register (but they may be calling you back after sharing information.) It's right to be sceptical and verify any calls first. If in doubt, speak to your Accountant or Financial Advisor.

21.01.2022 Please back up your smartphones. And, if you have given your parents a smartphone, make sure that they’ve set up backups on their phone. 20.01.2022 On Monday 26 April the Federal Government released the COVIDSafe App for smartphones. According to the website "COVIDSafe securely records when you have been in close contact with other users of the app. This will allow State and Territory health officials to contact you if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus." Data is stored on your phone. If you are in contact with someone else who has the app active for a period of time, they w...ill be notified if you subsequently test positive. You will be notified if they test positive. The Government encourages Australians to download the app to help stop the spread of Coronavirus. You can read more about the App at https://covidsafe.gov.au If you haven't already downloaded the App you can download it through Apple's App Store or the Google Play Store on Android devices. Be careful, and remember if it seems too good to be true it probably is. Remember, clicking on the link and sharing your details gives these scammers access to your personal information, which they then use to steal your money and identity! 15.01.2022 Beware - Scam Alert. Our director Hamish Jones has been made aware that scammers are continuing to be active with regards to NBN Scams. He’s heard locally of Scammers ringing up people at home and telling them that their NBN has been hacked. ... They’ll ask you to give them access to your computer so they can remove the virus. The Scammers will then download software to your computer that means tehy get to track your every move. They can then use this access to gain entry to online banking and other private accounts - potentially stealing your data, identity or money. You will never get a call from NBN about hacking. Please be careful. If you have any questions, please reach out for advice.

10.01.2022 Video Conference Calls - Fun for the Whole Family Those of us working have got used to the idea of back to back Zoom calls or Google Meets. We’re having fun with changed backgrounds and all sorts of things. Most of us have even taught others to mute their microphone when they aren’t talking. ... But it’s not all work. Children Bedtime stories from Grandparents Art - let them make art at the same time as friends, showing each other via video what they are making. Dress Ups Seniors Catch up with Friends - You can still catch up for Coffee and cake Meetings - Our Rotary Club is now meeting online as are many other Rotary Clubs and Service Organisations Learn Something New - Many organisations are offering classes via video conference, and some may be suitable for Seniors. Are there any Seniors in your family that could do with some free help getting online and getting their video conferencing sorted? Happy to help them with no obligation.

07.01.2022 A post from Managing Director Hamish Jones I am going to use a couple of buzzwords in this post, mainly because I am not sure what other words to use. We are working in unprecedented times. Everyday we’re talking to current and prospective clients. Businesses that are trying to get through the other side, businesses that need to change the way that operate and some businesses that are well-placed to thrive. ... Here are some of the things we’re working on and suggesting: Severely impacted industries Consolidate and downgrade technology - Some businesses need to drastically reduce costs. They may have tech that is beneficial but not an absolute 100% necessity. Bill Analysis and Cost Cutting - We can help prospective clients assess their current bills and suppliers, work out areas for cost cutting. They may be paying for services that they don’t need or just be unaware of different options available to them Business Pivots - Some businesses need to change. We’ve worked with hospitality businesses to help set them up for digital marketing and set up for takeaway and delivery. We’re also working with prospective clients to set them up for ecommerce strategies. Business that can thrive Transition to Cloud - Many businesses have moved their staff to home. We’re working with them to make sure they have the right technology to have their teams work remotely. This includes Cloud PBX, Cloud software and video conferencing platform advice. Upgrade to NBN - Many of our clients have had to help get their staff set up with NBN at home, to enable them to effectively manage their workload and thrive in a remote environment. 4G Backup Data to ensure business continuity - In some circumstances we’ve been working with clients to set up backup internet as well - providing them with a 4G backup for their NBN. This has been predominantly with families who have children who are now studying at home.. Policies/Procedures and Systems for Remote Work- Some clients need help with their written policies and procedures to manage their remote workforce. We’ve also done significant research into Government announcements that benefit business. If you’d like a no-obligation audit of your business, please get in touch to book some time in my diary. I’d love to have a chat and see if I can help
