The most effective way to lose body fat is to lift weights. Now contrary to what most people think, resistance training will not make you big and bulky. This is due to the fact that women produce 1/12th the testosterone that men produce, thus meaning muscle growth is limited.... Muscle growth is metabolically active, MEANING the more lean muscle you have on your body the MORE calories your body has to expend to maintain your muscle you have. Focus on the nutritional content of the foods you are consuming and understand that there are no magical foods that will help you lose weight or gain muscle. Although there are foods that are more optimal to consume , but optimal doesn't always mean sustainable.... The calories of foods can be broken down into macronutrients which is carbohydrates, fibre, fats and proteins. Inform yourself on what type of calories you are actually consuming and understand by tracking your intake you will have better control and manipulation of your body composition.

19.01.2022 Are you living in the past? Are you in control of your mind or does your body control you? Why is change so hard? These are all difficult questions to answer - although it makes you think. Think back to a highly emotional experience in your own life - the pain associated with losing someone as an example. It is fair to assume this created a lot of suffering for you - potentially it still does whenever the event is brought up. You have thought about the past enough times th...at it becomes easy to recall - almost automatic. Now imagine this event was over 10 years ago. For 10 years you have practiced thinking and feeling about suffering. It’s so automatic that you no longer need to think about the past event to create the feeling. You have memorized suffering by recurring thoughts and feelings. By repeating the same thoughts and feelings you have courted with for more than 10 years your body unconsciously remembers the feeling of suffering. It is natural now - it is just who you are. By thinking about a highly emotional event in your life you cause the brain to memorize the emotion. A combination of the chemicals caused by thinking and feeling and the strengthening of the brain’s neurons condition the mind and the body to a finite set of automatic programs. We are capable of re-living past events over and over. It is this unconscious repetition that trains the body to remember that emotional state equal to or better than the conscious mind. When the body remembers better than the conscious mind - that is, when the body is the mind - that’s known as a habit. The result of this is we will think the same thoughts, feel the same thoughts, feel the same feelings, react in identical ways, perceive the same reality, behave in the same manner. About 95% of who we are by midlife is a series of subconscious programs that have become automatic - brushing our teeth, driving our car, overeating when stressed, coffee in the morning, going to work or not going to work - the list goes on. Most people get their car washed, timing belts changed, fluids flushed and filled, and keep up with the regular services required to keep the vehicle functioning efficiently.... But do most people do the same thing with their body? Probably not . Your body will work best when it's well oiled and well maintained. With a car you can choose to not clean it and run it to the ground. The thing is though you can always replace the car unlike your body. If your diet is filled with predominantly processed foods, sugars and trans fats , your body will run like a 1980s Toyota Corona. If you don't feel like a Ferrari it's because you are not looking after yourself.
