24.01.2022 During STEM sessions over the last several weeks, students in Millewa have being learning about circuits and conductivity through the use of Makey Makey. They have been so engaged and motivated to experiment with different materials to test conductivity! They have made circuits with bananas, apples, plants, play dough and their bodies! Yesterday students used grey led (graphite is conductive) to create musical instruments... next week we will move on to coding programs and utilising Makey Makey in yet another way.

24.01.2022 A whole lot of hoola-hooping fun today both on and offsite. Great to see everyone challenge themselves to try something tricky - neck, waist, arm, leg, ankle... the lot! Izzy showed us how to spin 5 at a time and Hazel hoola-hooped on skates! Fabulous effort by everyone - a great way to get the heart pumping while having fun!

24.01.2022 Could not be prouder of this amazing staff! 2020 was certainly a year like no other. Was wonderful to come together, enjoy a meal and catch our breath - we made it... Still standing and smiling! From us to you, we wish all of our families and the wider community a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year

22.01.2022 The last newsletter for the 2020 school year! Wishing our students, families and the wider community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! https://drive.google.com//175UIjreTj_l3GKmrG_FdCA8ia/view

22.01.2022 Morning! Week 7... our 4th week of remote learning - we are half way there woo hoo! Here’s a challenge to get your bodies moving this week!

21.01.2022 Today we had a visit from our new local policeman Senior Constable Luke Fogarty. It was great to reinforce that Police are an important part of our community who strive to build positive relationships with everyone to ensure a safe and happy community.

21.01.2022 Book Week Day 3.... today Millewa students created picture story books! They worked beautifully moving from brainstorming to drafting to publishing all in the morning session! In the middle session we joined with Mudgee to share our stories with a buddy and then both illustrated our own copy of the story.

21.01.2022 We are so blessed to be connected to and supported by our wider community! Thank you so much to members of the Bethanga men’s Shed... despite our tractor restoration project being put on hold because of COVID, several members of the men’s shed managed to bring an idea of Mrs Woods to life! The students of Mudgee love the new cable reel imaginative play space and chalk ‘board’. We are very grateful for your ongoing support - we can’t wait until we can work together on the tractor make-over

20.01.2022 Another great week at Bethanga Primary. Thank you to all of our students and families for your ongoing support and dedication to making term 3 fabulous no matter what is thrown at us!

20.01.2022 Although Book Week has officially been moved to October this year (17th-23rd), this week is when it would usually take place (the annual CBCA Book Week has occurred in the 3rd week of August since 1945!) students took part in another virtual MARC session today and took delight in dressing up in costumes inspired by books

20.01.2022 Stage 4 of our Creatively Connected Project... the beginning of the paint! The kids worked with Georgia to determine a colour palette that would add some brightness but still have an element of subtleness... I think they got the balance perfect!

19.01.2022 VIRTUAL TRANSITION With remote learning and restrictions on who is allowed onsite, it has been difficult for future students to get to know their new school. Usually, we would have already visited kindy with buddies and completed at least one transition session. As a school, we wanted to find a way to connect with our 2021 Foundation students despite current circumstance. On Wednesday next week, I will be doing a WebEx Transition Session with the Bellbridge Early Learning Cen...tre... can't wait! In addition to this, we have created an interactive 'Get to know the staff at Bethanga Primary' space. Families can use the link below to access this PDF document (which can then be saved to your own device/computer). Then it is time to explore! Students and families can click on any of the staff photos hanging on the wall to have a video introduction to that staff member. We have also created a virtual library so that you can click on any of the book covers to hear that book read by one of the Bethanga Primary teaching team! I'm sure current students will love this as well! Feel free to share with friends and family. We'd love to hear what you think! We are currently working on a virtual school tour presented by our current students - we hope to share that next week so keep your eyes out for that one! PLEASE REMEMBER IF YOU HAVE A CHILD COMMENCING AT BETHANGA PS IN 2021, ENROLMENT FORMS ARE DUE NOW. https://drive.google.com//1g29VBJmvRbK3fRORyeHkGejeI/view

18.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dads, Grandads, Uncles and special people in the lives of our Bethanga community. We hope you have a wonderful day Travis, Steven, John, Luke, Dave, Daniel, Lance, Paul H, Paul M, Ben, Adam, Richard, Brad and Doug

18.01.2022 Mudgee enjoying MARC van with Amy this week... always a much anticipated visit sharing a love of books and giving students the opportunity to borrow from a wide range of fabulous books from the van.

17.01.2022 Wearing yellow to acknowledge R U OK? Day - always important to check in with those around us but even more so in 2020... it’s been a challenging year! #ruokday2020 R U OK Day

17.01.2022 My goodness! Look what appeared at the front of our school today! I wonder if our little Spoonville community will grow in coming weeks? A great way to Stay Connected when Apart

16.01.2022 Fabulous news today! All students will return onsite from day 1 term 4

16.01.2022 The theme of today’s Remote Learning was being outdoors. As we enter the last week of term, we are all feeling a little ‘Webex fatigue’ so it was lovely to not switch on a computer, to get outside and have some fun! Onsite we did a nature scavenger hunt, a shadow photo challenge and learnt to make daisy chains... in the words of one of our prep students This is so calming and loving

15.01.2022 Take a tour of our campuses from 3:30pm and then join us online for a Live Q&A and information session when we're On Show, Thursday March 18 - More: https://bit.ly/3uT99OI

14.01.2022 A wonderful morning at our Teddy Bears picnic - reconnecting as well as meeting Mrs Larkin for the first time. We look forward to welcoming all students back officially on Friday 29th Jan

14.01.2022 Over the last few days, students participated in activities to acknowledge NAIDOC week and what the 2020 theme ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’ means. We explored the NAIDOC poster which is an amazing piece of artwork by Tyrowan Waigana. His winning design depicts the rainbow serpent coming out of the Dreamtime to create the Australian landmass and how Indigenous Australians are strongly connected to it. We explored our own connections to this - Percy Trezise, a renowned Aboriginal painter who created the pictures for the Rainbow Serpent book went to Bethanga Primary School! Students in Millewa created a NAIDOC inspired mural capturing their own interpretation of the Rainbow Serpent #alwayswasalwayswillbe #NAIDOC2020

14.01.2022 Last week in EQ, we focused on Mindfulness. One of the activities was a mindful colouring session - all students were provided with an abstract picture to colour... and here is the finished product! A beautiful example of how we can all be connected despite being apart.

14.01.2022 Mrs Grove officially finishes at school this week in preparation for baby Grove. It was wonderful to have her out for assembly this morning and to present her with a beautiful hamper of goodies for her and baby Grove - thank you to our whole school community who made contributions towards this - a symbol of our connectedness even though we are apart. We wish Mrs Grove and her family all of the very best. Daph on the other hand was not so happy about going on leave... she’s missed all of the kids terribly while we have been in remote learning - we look forward to welcoming Mrs Grove and Daph back in the not so distant future

13.01.2022 Just a reminder that we have our Teddy Bear’s Picnic (meet & greet Mrs Larkin) 10-11am at the top playground tomorrow... bring along your morning tea and water bottle - especially for students and parents of Mudgee to meet their new teacher before school commences next week however Millewa students and families are welcome too

13.01.2022 Another week of Remote and Flexible Learning - more ‘firsts’ this week... remote writing moderation, virtual F2021 transition session and hoola hooping while on skates! We also have a few new spoon friends in Spoonville

13.01.2022 Who can believe October is done (almost!)?!?! Here is the newsletter for week 4 https://drive.google.com//1vNAh8N2Zp9VoaIb06uBqLLU1R/view

09.01.2022 Creative Recovery Grant ‘Creatively Connected’ Project with Georgia Jacobs Stage 5: IT’S COMPLETE! This amazing mural is now complete... it makes me smile every time I look at it, in my head I point out the ‘parts’ of every student. It has been such a beautiful process watching it come together! In 2021 we plan on continuing our partnership with Georgia to create a complimentary mural on the opposite side of Mudgee which will adjoin our new Sensory Play Space.... how wonderful!!

09.01.2022 R U OK? Don’t forget to wear yellow today and meet us on Webex at 9am

09.01.2022 It's time to launch the second part of our Virtual F2021 Transition! Thank you to everyone who shared and commented on our first document 'Get to know the staff at Bethanga' the response was overwhelmingly positive and we appreciate it! This document is a compilation of photos highlighting areas of our school that are important to our current students. Each photo is a link to a video of a student talking about that aspect of Bethanga Primary School. This is a great way for ou...r new students to become familiar not only with the physical aspects of our school but also to have many familiar faces when they can come along and experience our school onsite. Please share far and wide... as well as supporting our F2021 foundation students, it also increases the visibility of our school in the wider community . We hope you enjoy it! https://drive.google.com//15zLqTWoCTqGwjKXJqeCGwZSai/view See more

09.01.2022 It’s ok! Performed by the onsite crew - here is the link to the song on youtube if you would like to sing it at home! https://youtu.be/09qk0lXTfi4 #RUOK R U OK Day

09.01.2022 What an AMAZING day! Our first cluster day for a long time due to COVID.... made us appreciate being together even more! Our Harmony themed cluster day brought 120 students together from Mitta Mitta Primary School Eskdale Primary School Talgarno Primary School @uppersandycreekprimary and Walwa Primary to participate in STOMP Dance Co workshops, Harmony Day craft, Bluearth sessions and the first session working on our ‘Cluster Collectively Connected’ Project. So lovely to host the first of 4 scheduled cluster days for 2021 at Bethanga... every student giving it their absolute best! SEE COMMENTS FOR OUR FABULOUS DANCES!

08.01.2022 This week we kicked off our 5 week fitness program! Both classes enjoyed being put through their paces by professional athlete Naomi from Running Fit. This program was made possible with Sporting Schools funding.

08.01.2022 Term 3 concludes this week. Well done to everyone in our school community who have successfully navigated another challenging term. https://drive.google.com//1n_4aUZTD0Gg30bY82shKPeZbU/view

05.01.2022 Happy Public Holiday! Some Melbourne Cup fun from yesterday

05.01.2022 Succulents anyone? We have a variety of excess succulents at the back gate of the school if anyone in the school or wider community would like some (or all!) please come down and help yourself (they are on the external side of the gate so no need to sign in etc)

05.01.2022 A great day of sailing with students in 3-5. This amazing experience is an annual term 4 program - we are so lucky to have the Albury/Wodonga Yacht Club so close to school (and the beautiful weir of course!) This year we also gave paddle boarding a go... not as easy as it looks!

05.01.2022 Week 7 of term and week 4 of remote learning done! How lovely to have the sun shining and blue skies this week! So much learning taking place both onsite and at home... engaged learners having fun and staying connected - our ultimate goal! Thank you to everyone who filled out the Remote Learning Parent Survey; a huge response which was overwhelmingly positive. The results will be shared at School Council Monday night and then shared with the wider school community

05.01.2022 So we made it to the end of term 3! Thank you to our amazing school community - teachers, students and parents for staying connected and making the best out of a less than ideal situation. Today we reflected on the term that was and the future that we hope for. Students both on and offsite completed a ‘hope’ (for the rest of the school year), a ‘dream’ (for the future) and a ‘believe’ (a positive from this experience). Next term when we are all back together, we will bury these in a time capsule along with some information about Remote Learning and a profile created by each student. In term 4, 2027, we will open our time capsule as part of our Year 6 Graduation -revisiting and reflecting on our Class of 2027’s crazy first year of school!

03.01.2022 Transition with a difference! Today I had a lovely time getting to know our F2021 students with a webex transition session - I learnt a new song (the make a circle song - Olivia's favourite!), we shared a book (Celeste the Giraffe loves to laugh), created a giraffe mask each and learned together that the little 'horns' on top of a giraffe's head are called ossicones! At kindy, the kids have been learning Auslan - just like we do here at Bethanga! We learnt the sign for giraffe as well. Thank you to all of the educators at Bellbridge Early Learning Centre who made the session possible. Looking forward to term 4 when we can kick off some face to face transition!

03.01.2022 A lovely way to finish off the school year with Kris Kringle in Millewa... pure joy as kids shared gifts and took great delight in giving

02.01.2022 A beautiful student-led acknowledgment of Remembrance Day in our ANZAC Garden #lestweforget2020

02.01.2022 Book Week 2020 Day 4! The much anticipated dress up day! Everyone had a great time dressing up as a book character or curious creature! We even went for a wander around the school yard for a ‘socially-distant parade’ don’t forget to join us on Webex tonight for a virtual ‘Books before Bedtime’ at 6:30pm to wrap up Book Week for another year

02.01.2022 This week in EQ (emotional intelligence) students learnt about stress. I was so impressed with the conversations about stress - what can cause it as well as the acknowledgement that every one is stressed by different things and expresses it in different ways - check out this fabulous work completed by students both on and off site

01.01.2022 Millewa had their 5th hockey session with Abby today... amazing to see how much students confidence and ability has grown in such a short time. Thank you to Sporting Schools for making sports programs like this possible - wonderful experiences from qualified coaches

01.01.2022 So thrilled with the completed works at the front of the school! Not only have we reduced bushfire prone vegetation but we have also enhanced the appeal of the school making it more visible from the road and highlighting the beautiful tree at our assembly area. I’ve included some before and after photos to highlight the changes made... amazing! In Dec 2020 and Jan 2021, we will see the construction of covered walkways as well as the creation of our sensory space - Can’t wait!
