21.01.2022 What's the difference between recycled/ reclaimed OR remachined timber??? All of our timber is RECYCLED At Betta Recycle It but not all of it is "2nd hand" per say. RECYCLED OR RECLAIMED boards are those which have been laid in a home or building and have had one purpose for the entirety of their existence. They've been carefully removed as not to damage the tongue and grooves (if they are floor boards), they are then de-nailed, cleaned up and on-sold. They are a GREAT produ...ct for people who are budget focused, they've got amazing character and are the only option for floor repairs due to colour and the characteristics of the grain for the most seemless result. REMACHINED boards, are made out of recycled timbers. They are NOT a second hand product, in that they have never been laid. We receive mountains of old roof and floor timbers post demolition and rather than rid of them we machine them into NEW flooring, giving these age old timbers a new lease on life. The colours from remachined timbers are much more vibrant, the grains usually have a lighter feel and for people worried about Jarrah being dark, you'd be surprised at how light these boards can get. Why is there a price difference when they are both a recycled product? The recycled boards don't have to go through any machines, so there's no "overheads" to our company (no wear and tear) apart from denailing and cleaning them, they also take a lot less time to get ready for you to take home from the time we remove them from their initial home. The timbers used for remachined boards are carefully selected and there's generally another hand required to make these. Happy to answer any questions at all about the process. 21.01.2022 So last week you saw the start of Heidi's bedroom. Now its safe to say that our babies bedroom is better than ours. With a few finishing touches to go, we used reclaimed timbers and machined up some 12mm VJ cladding to make her bed. The floorboards are recycled 60mm Jarrah finger jointed boards. These are our cheapest product! We saved her vintage robe from a demo. Her dresser (the standard dodgey pine one we've all aquired) we painted white and decoupaged the drawer front.... One project we are definitely proud of. Why throw things away and buy tacky poorly made furniture when you can recycle. Get grubby and upcycle or buy reclaimed

19.01.2022 In the middle of laying 60mm boards to the bedrooms of our reno. Bigger isn't always best. Narrower boards are a great way to get a solid floor on a budget. They're cheap as chips and what's even better is that they're gonna look amazing! These are recycled out of an old home in Dalkeith. Can't wait till they're all done.. stay tuned for pics.

18.01.2022 60-65mm recycled SOLID JARRAH floorboards for just $20 a square meter. We are more than happy to negotiate the price for orders over 200m2 or jobs we lay ourselves. Why not go for narrower boards??? We think they are just as beautiful and give the same warmth as wider boards. Some of these floorboards have been taken from homes over 100 years old. Plus...they do the EXACT same job for a third of the price.... We can also machine into lengths to suit parquet, chevron or herringbone at an additional cost. We are forever looking for qualified and trusted floor layers/sanders to team up with. 18.01.2022 Fine Jarrah and karri saw dust from timber mill in Gidgegannup (Red Hill End) perfect for chicken coops and horse pens. $20 per trailer load. Heaps up for grabs. You pick up. Bobcat on site for loading. We started using this as the flooring, bedding and in laying boxes in our chicken/duck pen after getting sick to death of rodents in particular. We read up on ways to reduce rats and not using hay like materials was one of the number one points on a few sites... It's definitely worked to reduce the rats...and apparently the mites aren't keen on the Jarrah either..

10.01.2022 So these are the recycled Jarrah floors we installed into our own home when we renovated earlier this year.. We wanted to lay something in our home we could show our Clients as an example of our worst product.. They were scrappy, had paint and varnish all over them and were certainly worse for wear (just look at the stair risers for reference). After a sand and a semi gloss finish, they've come up looking delish!

07.01.2022 Friends and Family, Matt and I are safe. Matt is still at home whilst myself, the kiddos and the animals have left. The fire is across the road from our house. We are at high risk, though the wind is playing in our favour at the moment. We are blessed to have the Fire Station as a close neighbour.... Matt will leave if he is told to leave, in the meanwhile he is keeping an eye out for spot fires in the yard. Thanks to all the concerned calls and messages. We are scared, but we are aware we have peers that have lost everything. Big shout out to all WA fire fighters. We love you guys and girls as well as extended support staff and volunteers. We'll keep you updated. Keep safe.

05.01.2022 Look familiar? We used rough sawn recycled Jarrah in varying thicknesses to spruce up our new reclaimed gates! What's even better is that this is a by-product of our flooring and decking...No Waste! These gates were saved from the demo pile, installed by us and then we had Graham from Solar Gate Solutions WA @grahamlund come and install a solar opening system to both. Thanks Graham, you're a legend!

04.01.2022 Why use recycled boards??? There's certainly a stigma against recycled or "used" anything in this materialistic world we live in. If you are sure you want to use "new," please do your research and go for an Aussie made product. There's too many imported, cheap products in the market with shallow promises of lasting the test of time. Don't be persuaded by showroom sales staff to go for the least expensive option under the guise it will "do the job." NOTHING beats the real dea...l. Some of our boards are a century old! With results like these, recycled boards are the ultimate buy for your buck product. They WILL last, they WILL look good forever and for the price of refinishing every 15 or so years, it beats replacing your whole floor in the same time frame.
