24.01.2022 22nd April 2018... it’s almost 20months since we started our project BWB I’ve felt the ups and downs of the project trying every avenue to get a book and bear to the Syrian children in the camps. Bushra and Alice met with me last week to go through more suggestions as to how we marry up the books which will be printed in Jordan and the bears that we will send by sea. We ponder over which camps are accessible as many zones do not have food or medicine. Life doesn’t get any ...easier for these families living without the basic necessities, children need some comfort and for their families to know that there are lots of people who care about their situation. As you can see the photograph shows cartons of bears ready to ship. Your very kind donations will help print the book and ship your bears... thank you to everyone that has supported BWB
19.01.2022 Exciting news ...580 books printed by Newstyle Print, all thanks to Stephen Rowe’s contacts. Bears boxed ready to deliver to a refugee camp in France, Rick and I will fly with the boxes and take them directly to the Syrian children. Two years from starting BWB it’s so very exciting to be able to deliver the packages, and to be able to thank everyone who has helped get a Bear and a Book to 580 children... you are all thank you from the bottom of my heart. 10.01.2022 Hello from Barcelona... dropped boxes of bears and books with Mouna ElHaimoud founder ‘Toys with Wings’, in Madrid. I would not have had this opportunity to get them here to Spain without the wonderful staff of CATHAY PACIFIC AIRWAYS such smooth transition from Adelaide to HongKong then Madrid, thank you! Thanks also to Stephen Rowe, Phill Hoffmann Travel and Anne. Special love to my friends whose support with BWB from the beginning...Chris Pam Anne Val Di Jannette Juli...e Catherine. to my support friend Bushra Rasheed who translated the book ‘Jada Jamella’s Dream ‘ and sought so much information to get the project to Syrian Refugee Children Jillian Zha who as a student illustrated the book My cousin Linda who knitted hundreds of teddy bears and all the children who gave their preloved toys through Jack, of Star of the Sea school in Adelaide! Thank you to everyone who also dropped bears at my home. Finally without Ricky I couldn’t have arrived at the moment we handed over the boxes, he ( and my beautiful children &!grandchildren) have put up with so much of my madness. Without his organisation, packing, wrapping and literally keeping contact with all involved I wouldn’t have been able to finish my project after two years, thank you my darling your my shinning Well to all I will keep you posted on our next project See more
05.01.2022 Amazing news....thanks to UNHCR we have made contact with Mouna ElHaimoud founder ‘Toys with Wings’, Mouna has accepted the BWB project with open arms. Ricky and I hope to fly to Jordan with the 12 boxes and deliver personally to their warehouse from which ‘Toys with Wings’ will distribute to a camp were the children are in great need of support. We hope to leave this month... but will keep you posted. Thanks once again for your support! Lynn
