22.01.2022 A blocked sewer can be the most inconvenient thing for your household. We were contacted about a blockage in the house and found the whole line was blocked and surcharging in the backyard. With a little light digging and removal of some pavers to find the sewer shaft, we were able to partially clear the blockage but noticed the water colour from the jet turning a familiar colour, that of clay. We booked a day with the client to come and dig up the problem area by hand and rectify to issue. There was a crack in the sewer which resulted in tree roots entering the line. We raised up a couple of access points and left the job nice and tidy, and after a few more pics we were on our way with the customer over the moon that there will be no more issues with the drains.

21.01.2022 When you are setup with all the right gear, it makes the job easy. This customer called with a blocked toilet, being a childcare facility, and about to start their Christmas party we couldnt leave them without ammenities. We were able to find the issue with the camera, clear the blockage and advise on the next process of digging up the effected area and replace the pipework. 21.01.2022 Another bathroom completed with the team at Macarthur building group. Full redesign with a monster composite bath, brushed nickel tapware and accessories and full wall niche above bath.

21.01.2022 It’s been a busy couple of weeks with hot water. Colder weather tends to put a lot more pressure on your hot water tank with the higher demand for showers. Betterflo will always look at the best options for your household with the best hot water heaters available. We highly recommend rheem brand systems and currently using the stainless steel tank option. Here is a couple of clients that have upgraded to a better tank for their household. The gas option is a 5 star 340L first hour delivery with a 185l recovery rate. Both gas and electric tanks come with a 12 year cylinder warranty. If you are seeing brown or discoloured water coming through your hot taps, your heater is showing signs of rust buildup and time to replace the tank.

20.01.2022 After completing a recent sewer rebuild at a set of factory units, we pressured cleaned where we had been working and taking machines over the concrete. The client asked us if we could pressure clean the entire complex. It was completed over 2 weekends so not to interrupt staff and customers in the car park. Amazing difference it has made, almost looks like new concrete.

20.01.2022 If you dont want a water view in your backyard, get your stormwater checked for blockages. This client had major issues with rising water when it rained and contacted us to solve the problem. Problem found and cleared, build up of silt, debris and plenty of tennis balls, ping pong balls and other balls that have got into the pipes over time. A camera inspection also found a couple of minor breaks in the pipes. If you are finding water pooling or slow draining, its time to get your pipes checked.

20.01.2022 Customer wanted more hot water for a growing family. We upgraded from a 160l to this monster 400l. All connected with new valves, lagged pipework, tempering valve and upgraded the electrical to comply with new regulations of isolator switch at the heater and a rcd in the electrical board. 19.01.2022 With the colder months approaching and the high demand on hot water, older tanks are put under pressure and can sometimes fail or burst. Generally the first sign of your tank showing its age is brown/ dirty water from the hot tap, this is rust build up inside the tank. We always aim for same day hot water changeovers and repairs, and are up to date with all the latest regulations. This electric had seen better days, a new system installed, and as the electrical code has changed, an isolator installed next to the system and a rcd upgrade in the meter box.

19.01.2022 Too many times when we are doing tap servicing to showers we are noticing the lack of silicone behind the taps to the wall cavity. Silicone stops water entering the house frames with the potential of wood rot or attracting termites when using the shower. Dont risk shortcuts, call a licensed plumber to do any and all plumbing work on your house.

Continual disposal down the sink will eventually cause a major blockage in the pipes and will require it to be cleared. If the kitchen isn’t protected by a surcharge gully, it can be quite difficult to access from outside and as you can see would cause a bit of mess if done from inside the house.

17.01.2022 DIY disasters, I understand that some people like to do everything around the house, there are some things that should be done by professionals. One of those is plumbing. Pay to get it done right the first time and avoid having problems or other issues in the future. Not worth the risk, use a licensed plumber.

16.01.2022 Sewer blockages are always due to some underlying factor. This customer called another plumber with an eel to clear to blockage only to have it block up again a few days later. We quickly were able to diagnose the problem with the jetter by the colour of the water coming back. The pipe was broken. We were able to dig up the affected section and replace it and have the sewer running freely again like it should.

16.01.2022 How would you like to take a shower and come out dirtier then before you got in it? The first signs of brown water coming from your hot water tap is time to get your hot water heater checked for replacement before your cylinder bursts. This was a changeover we did today, and now the customer has hot, clean water into all the taps.

15.01.2022 A couple of hot water upgrades and a relocation. With the cooler weather well on its way, it’s the time of year that most older heaters struggle to keep up with the demand and pack it in. We always discuss best options with our clients to suit their home and needs

15.01.2022 Leaking showers can cause major damage if not attended to straight away. It can be hard to determine where it is leaking from but a little investigation can sometimes locate the problem. This client noticed water damage to carpet, skirting boards and gyprock when moving items in a back room. We were called to identify the problem and located it fairly quickly. The issue is being caused due to the soap dish being drilled through the tiles, villa board and waterproofing, without sealing the plugs used. Shortcuts can lead to major issues and damage. Always call in a specialist when doing any work in and around your property and get the job done right the first time.

15.01.2022 This is what happens when there is a crack in a pipe or a joint isnt connected and glued properly. Tree roots can find their way into the drains and create havoc once inside. Preventative maintenance is always a good idea especially with sewer and stormwater pipes. A quick camera inspection can determine if there are any issues needing further work.

14.01.2022 When did you last have the Flexi pipes under your sinks or toilet checked? This is something that needs to be done regularly to avoid having your house turn into a swimming pool. This client was relatively lucky, burst during the night and was able to turn the water off to avoid a major disaster. What if you were at work, away for the weekend or even worse, away for a week or more on holidays. If a hose does burst, it can damage floor coverings, furniture, clothes as well as gyprock and skirting boards. Book in to get a safety check on all flexible pipes in your home and avoid a disaster.

07.01.2022 We were called out to repair a broken down pipe. Customers kelpie had a taste for pvc pipes and had a real good chew on it.

07.01.2022 Business is about a work and life balance. Whilst we push hard throughout the week, we also like our downtime to relax and refresh on weekends. Here is one way we like to sit back and relax, cooking for family and friends.

04.01.2022 We received many calls last night and today with flooding from blocked drains due to the heavy rains. Most were full of dirt and leaves that we saw but one had a buildup of concrete. We were able to clear the blockage and get the drains working like new again. Dont wait until its too late, have your drains looked at regularly and avoid flooding in your property. 02.01.2022 First electric heater install for the winter. Install was completed to our standard finish, and the electrical was completed by Power2go electrical with an isolation switch installed as per 2019 electrical standards.

02.01.2022 Another ensuite and main bathroom renovation completed with the team at Macarthur building group. Ensuite was increased in size, the finished result is amazing.

02.01.2022 A hot water upgrade from an old electric heater that wasnt really heating the water to top of the range rheem stellar 360 gas hot water system. The old power circuit was not only disconnected but fully removed as not to leave dead wires in the roof or wall cavity. Big thanks to Gavin from Power2go electrical for sorting out the electrical. Install as per standard with new valves, tempering valve and all water pipework lagged to keep in the heat on the hot line and prevent freezing in winter on the cold line.
