22.01.2022 12 Days of Tax Tips... Tip 10: For 2018 tax returns, the ATO will pay close attention to work-related expense claims that do no require written evidence. E.g., standards claims of $300 for work-related expenses, $150 for laundry expenses, 5000kms of work-related travel. Remember, you still need to have actually incurred the expense and be able to demonstrate this if asked by the ATO.

Tip 12: When making a donation of $2 or more into a bucket for an approved organisation for bushfire or flood victims, you can claim a deduction equal to your contribution without a receipt, up to the value of $10. You cant claim "donations" where you receive items like raffle/art union tickets, chocolates, pens or toys.
