23.01.2022 I love a good stretch routine that you can do all in one easy flow. Once you repeat the sequence a couple of times its easy to remember and seamlessly incorporate into your daily routine either morning or nighttime or post a lower body sesh. If youre someone who doesnt stretch because you dont have time or you dont think its that important Try and shift your mindset and think of stretching as YOU time as opposed to something you have to do and I promise youll start... to enjoy it. For me, Stretching is like meditation, it allows me to practice mindfulness and being present in the moment 1 downward dog > plank: warm up 2 Runners Lunge: hip flexors 3 Quad stretch 4 hamstring stretch 5 pigeon pose: piriformis & glute med 6 cobra pose: abdominals Hold each pose for 30s-1min depending on your flexibility level & time available, repeat all on the other side and most importantly dont forget to breathe and enjoy

20.01.2022 KYPHOTIC POSTURE A kyphosis is a natural curve through the thoracic spine however when it is accentuated by poor movement patterns and by slouching with standing and sitting it can create poor posture. 18.01.2022 POSTURAL TYPES Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought that your posture could definitely be better but youre not really too sure how to actually fix it so you just forget about it and hope that gravity stops trying to bring you down? Every person I come across is different, and their posture is unique to them, mainly due to muscle imbalances created through injuries, medical conditions, daily habits and most of all their work ergonomics. Many people spend countles...s hours hunched over computers, steering wheels and their phones, which explains most of their postural misalignments. ? Through body awareness. I find that if I get a patient to become more body aware of their alignment, they will become more conscious of correcting it. Chiropractic care, Pilates, yoga and general stretching is an excellent way to become aware of your posture and to understand how to activate the correct muscles to perfect your posture. There are four main types of postures that deviate from a healthy posture as seen on the image above. 16.01.2022 Contrary to popular belief, although you may have sustained an injury from movement or it feels aggravated by movement, complete rest is often more detrimental to your path to recovery than movement is. Your muscles are created to be moved. If you continue to rest an injured muscle past the time it needs to heal, the disuse shortens and stiffens the muscle fibers, amplifying the pain when you finally do move.... The result of becoming overly protective of a muscle that has been strained can lead to be a chronic disability. So in order to heal faster and prevent chronic out, you need to continue to move, within tolerable limits, the sooner you start moving, even a little bit, or return to activities such as walking, the faster you are likely to improve. So DONT rest, keep moving!

16.01.2022 SWAYBACK posture known as the lazy posture, is identified by shoulders and chest leaning backwards, with hips turned in and pelvis and chin thrust forward. Muscles which are tight and need stretching:... * Often not incredibly tight anywhere, but will rest in this position due to weakness so they hang off their ligaments and not have to use stability muscles * May be tight in hamstrings, pectoralis major and latissimus Dorsi Muscles which are weak and need strengthening: * Abdominals * Obliques * Iliacus * Lower trapezius * Upper thoracic extensors * Deep neck flexors * All of the gluteals If you think you may have this posture, it could be contributing to your back pain. 13.01.2022 If youre lazy like me and you want a fast and effective way to do your posture stretches at night without having to think about them, then this is for YOU!! Posture pole exercises open up your shoulder and chest region. Most of what we do is in front of us, meaning we carry our head in front of our shoulders. As a result, our shoulders roll forward, caving our chest inward and rounding out our mid back. This places extra strain on the muscles holding up the head at the ...back of the spine; reducing your ability to take a proper, deep breath (go on, try it!). The posture pole helps you to passively undo that at the end of the day. Posture pole exercises also encourage proper belly breathing and relaxation of muscles. This activity is best done just before you go to bed, to undo the days pressures of gravity and stress, and to prepare you for a better sleep youll notice the difference. 08.01.2022 NECK STRETCHES! Easy, effective & highly beneficial neck stretches to do anywhere anytime! Too often I hear people say Ive just learnt to live with the pain you shouldnt have to live with pain, you shouldnt have to get used to it or accept it as part of you! There is always help out there, you just have to be willing to seek it. Some conditions are irreversible but you can always learn tips, stretches & exercises to reduce symptoms or get some regular treatment to a...lleviate a percentage of the pain youre experiencing or prevent further damage to tissue and structures. These neck stretches along with regular adjustments may Release tension, aches, tightness, increase range of motion & reduce headaches. Hold for 20s or 3 long, deep breaths, repeat as many times in a day as you need.

The first is referred to as a structural short leg which means that there is an anatomical cause usually diagnosed in childhood. The second is a functional short leg which is usually caused by environmental or postural stress, In turn this causes spinal dysfunction through the joints, primarily through the sacroiliac joints (SIJ) which leads to tightening of the muscles around the area. The common goal of all chiropractic treatment is to restore or enhan...ce joint function, with the result of resolving joint inflammation and reducing pain and restoring function. A chiropractor will likely use manipulation to correct any subluxations, or misalignments, in your spine, neck, hips and feet. The most frequently used spinal manipulation technique is called the high-velocity low-amplitude thrust. Before the adjustment, the patients body is placed in a specific position to optimize the adjustment of the spine. This manipulation often results in an audible pop or cracking sound as the chiropractor uses his or her hands to apply a controlled sudden force to a joint. However Chiropractors are highly skilled to use use very gentle and specific techniques to mobilise and restore small joints such as the joints in the foot and ankle. 01.01.2022 Correct sleeping posture Are finding yourself waking up feeling stiff and achy in the neck? Perhaps its time to check your pillow and your sleeping posture. ... On average we spend between 7-9 hours a night in our sleeping position. Thats a third of our lives!!! If you ask me, thats a LONG time to be in one position, so it is essential that where you lay your head and the position youre utilizing is allowing you to get the support your body needs. No matter what, your sleep should never be compromised. For a pillow to be effective from a therapeutic perspective, it must be both supportive and comfortable. Sleep is a vital process which allows the body to rejuvenate, People often dont realize that your sleeping posture and pillow can have a big impact on your everyday posture, your quality of sleep, and may slowdown treatment results.
