22.01.2022 We at Beyond MVMNT have been maintaining strict precautions around sanitation due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The health of our staff, clients and community is of the utmost importance to us and we have drastically altered our regular cleaning schedule in response; cleaning equipment multiple times per day, cleaning our floors with an industrial floor cleaner daily, supplying hospital grade cleaning products to members to further wipe down equipment, supplying hand sanitizer an...d encouraging our members to do their part and practice good hygiene. Although our community is our number one priority and we still maintain the belief that we can overcome this difficult time together, we have also advised our members to keep a safe distance from one another and refrain from coming into contact with each other (we will miss our high fives!) We have made changes to our core policies and procedures and will be providing members with additional services to allow them to maintain their fitness in the comfort of their own home, should they choose to do so. With so much uncertainty surrounding how this situation will progress, all we can do at this stage is follow health guidelines set out to us by authorities and continue to service our community any way we can. We believe that building and maintaining a healthy immune system is the best defence in combating this virus so encourage everyone to keep on top of their exercise and good nutrition and we will continue to do our part in helping you all do so. - The Beyond MVMNT Team

16.01.2022 , 1 - Start slow and ease your way back! Dont just try and jump back into the same weights and intensity you were doing 3 months ago. Build back into it. 2 - Focus on your movement quality. This is a time to dial in your movement and practice perfect reps (hint - it always was ). Its not the time to try and do the heaviest you can and see where youre at. ... 3 - Have some fun! Get a solid session in but get around those around you and enjoy being back at the gym. 4 - Be patient but be consistent. Good things take time and that includes gainz bro. Just get some consistency back into your regime and the results will come. 5 - Dont be too hard on yourself. The last 3 months have been tough. 10.01.2022 Like everyone, Ive had my ups and downs with training. Injuries, soreness, tiredness, drank too much on the weekend, ate shit food you get the point. Ive been on the verge of burnout a few times. Motivation comes and goes just like anyone. ... Something that has helped me through, especially recently, is altering my mindset from I have to to I get to. This is something I first saw from Ben Bergeron, Owner of CrossFit New England. For example, I GET to go to the gym today, not I HAVE to go to the gym. I GET to go to work. I GET to be up at night to settle my kid back to sleep. Its just about having gratitude in the fact you get to do something that not everyone does. I fully believe your thought process has a profound effect on your actions and your actions are essentially what type of person you become. There are people out there that would love to have the time to go to the gym, to be able to go to work because they have a secure job, to have their own kids to pick up from school, to have enough money to put food on the table. With the recent arrival of our first baby girl, sleep is difficult to come by, time to myself or just time to do shit is more and more non-existent. I was up at about 3 am the other night, trying to settle her back to sleep. Immediate reaction was like fuck this, I have to be up at 5, Im going to be tired. I immediately recognised this negative thought and changed it. I get to be up at 3 am with my beautiful baby girl. I fucking get to do this and Im super grateful for it. I get to change her nappy which she immediately proceeds to do a big, fresh shit into. Yeah well maybe not everything, but you get the point I hope. Then I get to go to the gym I own and work with some amazing people. It might be a little tougher today on less sleep, but it wont always be this way. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to mindset and how your thoughts control your actions. Try putting it into action today and flip the script on your mindset. You get to go to the gym today and build yourself into a stronger, fitter and more capable version of you. You get to pick up your kids from school and build them into little humans with character you would be proud of. You get to put dinner on the table tonight because you have the means to do so.
